I followed this guide to the T after having rooted and installed cyanogen mod.

i have a few major problems

    1. phone is not recognized as stock - Kies doesnt work (says unsupported firmware) status comes up as custom
    2. Wifi doesnt NOT work, the slide over button is broken and bugged wont even activate // getting "prevention information-error" notification because of wifi

any help Stephen would be much appreciated, i must have forgot something. please let me know asap.

    thanks for your time

Ok just to be clear... This is the Cricket S4 and not a flashed S4 correct?

For kies to work you MUST unroot. However these packages are to be flashed in Odin. The link is in the op.

Make sure before you flash this you go into your custom recovery and do a full wipe(data, cache, and dalvik) then do a battery pull. After the battery pull boot directly into Odin mode as instructed.

    ^^^^
in response to that = I have already followed your guide and it went fine i am unrooted (promped me in custom recovery (OUDHS) and i said no) you whole OP guide i have followed and done to the T.

    i still have these problems:

MY GOAL IS 100% stock back to original state:
    1. phone is not recognized as stock - Kies doesnt work (says unsupported firmware) status comes up as custom
    2. Wifi doesnt NOT work, the slide over button is broken and bugged wont even activate // getting "prevention information-error" notification because of wifi

wondering if i need to flash stock firmware:
R970CVVUAMF5_R970CCRIAMF5_CRI.zip to get this solved. i cannot be more clear then that.

let me know if you can help me out

    thanks for your time

I flashed this on a Samsung Galaxy S4 Cricket (jfltecri) the Wifi will not turn on. I do not believe this flashed the stock recovery. Can you please confirm? The reason I tried to use this is because since this morning I have been unable to make or receive phone calls or text messages. Data works fine.

I had that issue one time. It was fixed by reflashing the firmware after having cleared cache and dalvik in my custom recovery.

    Edit:
I'm flashing the new firmware (MI3) to play with it a bit. I'm making sure it can be rooted and I'll get it uploaded

Depends on what you want. I prefer CWM but use TWRP on my tablet

My S4 seems to be bricked, no recovery.

Hopefully this will work with Odin, thumbs crossed.

I was messing with my Note 3 and softbricked it, still have recovery.

Attempting to convert a factory image to a .tar file so I can flash via Odin, wish me luck.

Can you boot the S4 into download mode? If so it can still be fixed.

I downloaded the Note3 FW from sammobile. Took less time to get it from them but you have to register a free account. **shrug** It's worth the 45 seconds.
