Exclamation Rom image needed (you can help me create a custom rom)

    Hey everyone,

Hopefully If I can find someone to compile the 2 source codes for this phone, we will have a few baked roms to place in here and begin work on straight custom roms

Is Muve Music included in the category of "Cricket Crap"? Of all the stuff Cricket puts on their phones, that's the one I might actually miss. If so, is there any way to make a custom rom that leaves Muve in place?

Not that it matters if I can't find a way to boot into custom recovery and get rooted.

I personally consider it crap for the reason that it is installable as an independent app. But before I make the choice I'll verify that it is independently installable before I remove it!!

For the most part I have everything done, just having issues with getting CWM to install it on the phone. Have to look closer at the Edify file and Update-Binary

For the most part I have

So thanks to ActionJeans, I have been able to confirm there are at least 2 HW versions of this phone.. that means any ROM development by me will be placed on hold untill a real programer can program a generic wifi drivers that will work on all Admire 2's

So I know I said I wouldn't try to develop, errr Bake, a rom for this phone but I cant help but to play around with it.
In doing so, it seems that all of the Samsung main apps (i.e. Phone, File Manage, Contacts, Media Player) are all interconnected. Meaning that in order to add a Photo to your contact you have to have Samsung Image viewer on the phone. This only provides a problem in which I had originally planned to Bake the rom with out this to reduce space since RealPlayer will display images as an Image veiwer.
I think I've come up with a work around for the 2 hardware versions of this phone by using Aroma Installer and having the user select which version. This kinda sucks cuz I would have to create 2 seperate roms and package them together which will cause an extremly large ROM file but allow for everyone to have access.
Right now still working on issues with replacing the stock main apps. Hopefully figure it out soon enuf

Thanks for making the effort. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

So far I haven't done much beyond deleting some of the more obvious storage hogs, like that obnoxious Let's Golf game and stuff. I'm not really confident enough with knowing what could potentially brick my phone to get too adventurous. It's just nice to feel like I've actually got control of what goes on my phone and that I'm not having the limited amount of space that I have on this thing squandered with crap I don't use.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. but it's gonna be rough! Between this and school. It wouldn't be so hard but samsung made sure to make this difficult, I'm sure on all there phones. We just picked up the S3 yesterday for the wife. She, of course, wont let me touch it yet. but just wait!!
