Finally Windows 8.1 .... kind of!

So as we wait for the official update to 8.1 we can still install the developers preview for this which is almost the same as what will be released and we can use apps designed specifically for 8.1

    1) register as developer at
    Windows App Studio - Microsoft

    .
    2) goto the app store and install Preview for Developers.
    3) once installed got the Preview for Developers and run it.
    4) goto Settings on your phone and run the Phone Update.

(word of caution, make sure you back everything up)

So yes this will contain everything 8.1 which includes Cortana and an FM radio (headset is needed for antenna ) I hope this will calm some of you who want 8.1. Just waiting for Nokia to release Windows 8.1 for our phones and figured this will help ease the wait.

    Cool

@rixx...I finally did get the 1320 ...and loving it! Being the tweaker and geek that I am I couldn't resist...I installed the developer's preview only a few days after I got the phone. WOW! It is NICE! The phone is just as fast. The keyboard is easier to use thanks to swype (kinda like Android). The coolest thing....Cortana. You can activate her via a live tile or pressing the search button in the lower right corner of the phone. I use her all the time for making calls and checking the weather. I've also tried using her to play my music but for the most part she misunderstands what I said. ...so all in all...not perfect but pretty darn good. Definitely better than "OK Google". No comments about Siri b/c I never dealt with iPhone. Overall...Windows Phone 8.1 ROCKS! I can't wait for the official update (which includes Cyan) which will make it even better. Right now I've got 8.1 sitting on top of the "Black" update which comes stock on the 1320. "Cyan" isn't available for the 1320 yet. Don't ask because I'm not too clear on what "Cyan" really is. ..but I don't think it is the actual OS. All in all...I don't think I'll ever go back to using Android on my phones. I enjoyed Android but it wasn't as rock stable as Windows Phone. So far my Windows Phone experience is exactly what I remember from Windows Mobile 5 from so long ago....good performance with solid stability. I haven't had to reboot my 1320 at all except for the updates to the developer preview. I almost forgot....the already amazing battery life only improved. I can go run errands + shopping in my car...usually gone for no less than 2 hours (I live near Houston, TX). I use my phone in the car to play music (bye bye ipod...tired of that *&@&* cable constantly losing connection to my car stereo) and in the store to read the shopping list (Smart Shopping app is great!) By the time I get home the phone might have about 75% power remaining. If this was my old S4...it would be dead before I ever got home unless I put it on the charger in the car.
