I tried latest version of kingroot. It worked but what didn't work was the method to replace king user with supers. Also can I install xposed and custom recoveries. Has anyone tried anything since and what about custom roms

    Towel root People
Having the i545 We couldn't just download the app and root Our S4. With locked bootloaders U can't however U can Odin to another kernel that accepts towelroot and quickly Odin back to the current kernel after U make it rain in Towelroot.

Enjoy. If U need help refer to XDA Developers root for the i545

Got S4 4.4.2 tuuboa1 rooted last night. KingRoot Ver: 4.1 works. Once rooted go inside and delete the other two icons and keep the kinguser. Good Luck

update: been messing with a throwaway zte z998 ATT 4G. Flashed it to stock 4.4.4. Rooted with Kingo Root. Used "Super Sume" to rip out kingo/king root and install chainfire's SU.

If your phone looses root on reboot then reroot with kingo/king, supersume rip, put SuperSU on "grant" & psuedo pro mode and before reboot start flashfire and install a supersu.zip. ....prob works on other phones.

btw, flashfire didnt see root with kingo but did see root once the swap was made with Supersume. Also, flashify did see root with kingo.
