lol rotary phone, only time NV's are truly needed is when you have a revert issue and then its a simple 0 to a 1 where applicable

If you phone boots, then put it in to diag and flash, if your on a CM rom then flash a stock rom then edit your settings for cricket and go back to a CM rom and I know there is a .zip file out there somewhere you can flash that will add the missing PPP config for your data or you can push it manually using ADB.
Is it possible we could talk else ware and you help me?

You do not have to root your phone to have Talk Text Web Apps MMS etc, only need root if you plan on removing apps through titanium or similar methods, or if you plan on using a custom ROM. I am a dealer and would never see the end of my day if I had to root every phone for a full flash. I only root if requested and I charge for it. But still point is, YOU DO NOT NEED ROOT TO FULLY FLASH YOUR EVO

You just unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and then install SU and busybox if you want.

Troubleshooting is the only way to do it. Only problem can exist on ur phone one it's on ur side and other cricket. Call verify if the info u give was correct and if u don't have incorrect info on ur phone. If a dial tone i would say esn incorrect or cricket is mess up ur account so how. Check.
