You can't use flashed phones in your market (Washington, D.C area).

If you were in a 1900 Mhz market, you would be able to flash it, as long as the ESN for Cricket is good. Verizon and Sprint ESN databases aren't shared with Cricket, so that wouldn't matter.

You can use a Cricket phone or you would need to try out another carrier. The Huawei Mercury is the closest thing to the Evo that Cricket has.

It might work, but I wouldn't recommend doing that.

If you're in the Washington D.C area you'd need to use a Cricket phone, or possibly a MetroPCS phone. If you have a phone that is a "World Phone" that most likely means it has GSM which will allow it to be used in other countries where CDMA coverage isn't available.
