CDMA Workshop: Failed...cannot read user lock.

First of all, my name is Ashley! Hello!
I'm going to get right to the point though...lol.
I have been trying to flash my htc evo for three days now. I keep getting stuck at the part where it's time to read the msl in cdma. It's not that I don't understand how to do that part -I'm very capable of reading. CDMA workshop simply doesn't recognize my phone. I have installed the correct drivers, and it connects successfully, but it refuses to 'read' anything. The errors come back as "Failed...cannot read user lock". I'm not sure what this means as I thought the process with CDMA was to "unlock" the phone. I have it in diag mode during this process also.
I think this is the only step I need to begin the flashing process.
Also, I have used the search function, and -unless I'm using it wrong- I don't see anyone else sharing my problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Oh and it says the phone is connected to com 1, but when I try connecting it there, it says it doesn't exist. It always connects at com 3.
I am running windows7 64. Just trying to remember any information that may be helpful.

Nevermind I got that to working. For some reason, it was connecting with port 3 and port 5, but only being able to function on port 5.
