Error rebooting after installing drivers in STEP 1 of tutorial...

    I got to this step:

Boot your EVO normally and turn on USB debugging. This should be under settings > applications > development. It'll throw up a warning but proceed. Nothing to be concerned about.

When I tried to reboot, nothing happened. I selected Recovery in that menu and now I have a picture of a cell phone with a red triangle and an exclaimation point in it.

I can't get it to reboot. I think I'm gonna have to pull the battery.

    Any help?

Pulling the battery worked... I'm nw rebooting with USB Debugging on...

Just so people know what I'm trying to do...

I just got a cricket account with the $55 plan. I want to get my EVO up and working. I have installed the android device drivers as described in the tutorial, part one. I rebooted after enabling USB Debugging. Nothing seems to be happening. I'm not getting the unrEVOked application to run.

I'm a little confused as to weather or not I need to do this step because I have the $55 plan.

What I would like is to get my EVO running on Cricket and be able to use teathering for my kid's ipod touch when on the road. I would also like to fool around with different ROMs.

Is this the tutorial I need to be following?

    Thanks,
    -Greg

After researching for a couple days it seems that I need to buy CDMA Workshop for $99 in order to flash my phone. I was hoping to get some help on this forum. Looks like I'll be taking it to a shop to have it done.

u dont have to pay a hundred for the workshop. U have to turn off ur firewall and open it. there is a youtube video explaining it

also if u still have the brick pick, take out the micro sd card and put a different rom in it and install it thru recovery.

OK, I'm flashed over. Everything seems to be working. Talk, text, App shop...
However, I get an error message each time I wake my phone,
"Data Call Failure" Error Code 67. Unable to establish wireless data connection. If the problem persists, please contact your mobile phone company.

I'm still running the stock Sprint software, so I think that's where the message is coming from.

It's time for me to learn how to install ROMs now!!
