    EVO 4G near Philly

    Hey

I was able to root my EVO 4G successfully, but I'm now having problems activating the phone. Does anyone know if I can use the flashed EVO 4G in the Philadelphia area? I tried calling to set-up a new account and they told me that the phone had to be tr-band, is the EVO tri-band? Also how can I tell if I live in a AWS market, is that the same as tri-band?

    Thanks

You can't use the HTC Evo here. It isn't a Tri-Band (AWS) phone.

You need to purchase a Cricket phone. You can find them
    here

You "can" use one, but it will be roaming on Sprint all the time. If someone wants to use an Evo in an AWS market, just get Boost Mobile. In my opinion, it's ripping off Cricket by using a flashed phone in an AWS market. It's like getting Sprint but using the "Force Roam" option so you get Verizon's coverage everywhere.
