    Evo won't turn on...

    I bought an Evo 2 days ago and today received in the mail. I turned it on and got stuck on the loading screen. I removed the.battery for a couple minutes and when I attempted to.turn it back on it won't turn on anymore.

    The battery has a good change since I checked it on a different phone. Weird thing is that when the battery is in and the phone off, my laptop will.detect the phone and tries to.install drivers.

    I tried volume down+power and phone won't turn on.

    Is the phone dead or can I try something that I don't know about?

    What 'loading' screen? Not all people have EVO 4G's and are familiar with their boot process. Stuck at the HTC EVO 4G screen? the HTC quietly brilliant? the big yellow 4G logo?

    You should be able to hit hboot regardless of OS/bootloop status.

    Which drivers/device is detected upon connection?

    More info == more help.

    It got stuck on the HTC Brilliant screen but it was a custom rom cause it was colored different and had a android guy in the middle. I don't know what rom it had or anything else related to the software since it never turned back on. I can't remember what device would popped up when I connected it but it it was something new since the drivers were not installed and windows was asking for them. I have done many evos before and have the drivers for them installed.

    Hey with that EVO that wouldn't turn on its bricked had the same thing with HTC hd2 you need to do what's called a jtag to load a bootloader on it or a bootimage.

    I believe the equipment is about $300 but I know there is a guy on eBay or (used to be) that would do it just search jtag and EVO you can also Google jtag EVO bootloader basically what you are doing is writing to the motherboard with hardware. The main thing you need is called rix box I believe I know it starts with an r though.

    There are 4 spring things on the motherboard that make contact to the midboard/housing (red piece that has the LEDs and kickstand) that allow the LEDs to work.
    If pressure makes them start working, it's likely that either one or more of the springs is crushed, or the contacts are dirty.

    Take the phone apart, check the springs (bend them up a little if any look a little low), clean the contacts, put it back together, try again.

    They shouldn't be too hard to find (are right under the LEDs) but let me know if you need a photo or something
