Did you give them the numberic 2700 or the A000? Also, is it a freshly flashed evo or you bought it flashed?
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

You're in an AWS market, which means you shouldn't use flashed phones there. You might want to get a Cricket phone.

As avenue explained previously, you are in a triband market. When you activate a flashed phone in a triband market, there is a pop up screen that shows up in the system and says "This is not triband capable and will not work for your area". There is a way to get around it by activating a phone as one of the original cricket ones, but not all the dealers would do that. Find a dealer locally and ask them.

I'm using a flashed evo in St. Louis, a tri-band area. Text and talk are perfect with good signal but data doesn't because they have me on some weird roaming plan that doesn't include data. Meaning I roam on Sprint 24/7. GreenK45 should fix my data but I need to root for that and gingerbread doesn't have root yet.

So if you do end up activating with cricket they will probably do the same thing to you. Hopefully developers find root soon because the range of my wifi is only limited to my house and I need email on the go.
