    I already know:

    -Do a nandroid backup
-Use titanium backup to backup apps and other stuff
-factory reset , reset chace, etc

anything else to add to this ?? will i be happy once im done or am i going to be pissed lol

How about adding a good flash tool software that un-bricks your phone.

What I mean is, just have a backup plan if something does happen, like your recovery getting flashed or spiked. Maybe these things never happen, but I managed to spike mine while leaning how to flash my LG Optimus C. Mind you, I was learning at the time. Now I don't worry, I know how to recover from a lost boot loader or recovery.

Not possible, if you bork while bootloader is flashing, you have a handy dandy new paperweight, just FYI.

What your saying is a recovery image can get deleted during a flash gone wrong, or is that a myth. I went to use the LG update tool to upgrade to Froyo 2.2.2 and guess what, on reboot I was stuck at the LG logo once again. Had to use KP500 Utilities software to flash back to Froyo 2.2.1 Now it's working again. Guess using the LG updater is out of the question.

A borked recovery flash (e.g. battery dying, unplug USB, etc) means that bootloader is still available, hence, you can "reflash". You won't have recovery until one is flashed correctly.

A borked bootloader flash though, will render the device a paperweight. for good.

I am not familiar with the LG tools, I would assume you need to wipe if it hangs at the boot logo.

Yes, a full wipe of everything. The KP500 tool works the best for me when I get stuck at the LG logo, or I just want to revert back to Froyo 2.2.1 -- The default ROM it comes with is not rooted so if you wanted to trade in the phone or get a repair ticket started, thats the only way I know to get rid of the evidents. haha
