It says 3G but running very slow.. please help

total newbie.. so I got an evo 4g running on 2.3.3 fully flashed to cricket today. It says that its 3g but its running so slow that it goes in and out eventhough i have 5 out of 6 bars. The guy told me that its the fastest the internet can go for a flashed phone.. its under the 55 dollar plan under. CPE- Android Smartphone plan.. I heard its cricket limiting the data speed on non cricket phones.. is this true? or is it something else.. please help me.

Actually you just have to be a forum member, but I already see you are a supporting member... so your good , I would guess it's one of two things.
    1. a plan issue
    2. a prl issue, means replacing your PRL or OTA programming(replaces PRL) and then re-flashing

I would start with the plan issue with the forum guys though... never know the guy at the store could have stuck you on the flashed phone plan (Bleck!)

well i think i did the mistake with that... newbie style. i previously had a non-smart phone then i bought this evo4g fully flashed.. so i just called the customer service to switch the numbers and such.. i had to switch plans also.. and i guess they placed me in the CPE- Android Smartphone Plan, it doesnt display the phone model or anything.. I read other people who had the same problem and some suggested it was the flash android plan.. they limited the speed so people can buy cricket phones instead...
