Question Use HTC Evo 4g on Cricket 35 dollar plan

Hi I just got an HTC evo 4g running Android 2.3.3. I want to make it Cricket.
I just want to use it for calls, text, and market.

Is it possible to do it without rooting it.

It's possible to get talk, text, internet, market, etc on $35 plan. I've done it before but root is necessary.

I had everything working on the 45 dollar plan but I upgraded to the 55 plan for the better speeds. Might downgrade if I get capped too much.

I've upgraded once again to the Android plan because of speeds. I'm trying to monitor my usage as closely as possible. Also because tethering with the $45 is a pain at times. Hard to use certain ports and what not. Applications have a harder time running.

It sure is. You have to use GreenK45 or manually do autostart.sh, autostart.apk, and u2nl install.

You just won't get the proper MMS. You could use Go SMS and their servers will send out a link to whoever with your picturemail. You will most likely have to visit a certain address to view MMS sent to you also. It won't be in built in phone type.

I have no suggestions right now for permanent 2.3.3 root on this device, EVO Shift, or EVO 3D.

As I've previously mentioned, I have my HTC Evo running on the CricKet PayGo $35 Unlimited plan... everything works fine except for MMS.. which is sometimey but most of the time can only receive and not send. I also didnt have to do anything different from the steps mentioned in chris's tutorial.
