Visual Voicemail and / or Google Voice with Cricket

The voicemail situation with the evo flashed to cricket is a real bummer. No visual voicemail due to not being supported by the network. No standard VM notifications.

Voicemail Notifier app is OK.. but isnt true notification.

I see alot of people recommending Google Voice... I've tried setting it up but the step that requires me to dial the *28xxxxxxxxxx number does not work, just goes to a fast busy. Ive seen on other forums that you can do *73 or *74 to get it programmed.

    My questions are:
    1) are there any real solutions for voicemail ?
    2) How do I get google voice to properly program with cricket / evo ?

I do not get any LED blink or notification upon VM . This is across two difference roms (Jiminy and MikG). It has always been that way since I began flashing evos last year.

I have the notification setting on , but I do not get a notification , which I think is because the rom im using has the stock sprint messaging app. i need to try the app u mentioned. is it pretty stable ?

If you know what you are doing you can patch the Phone.odex file to fix the VM icon on all sprint phones.

I'm sorry maybe I overlooked that you're on Paygo. That doesn't offer call forwarding period does it?

That's for a prepaid account. Yes, for prepaid accounts you can forward your number to a LOCAL number. Paygo does not offer call forwarding as a feature.
