Ok...new member and I love this site. I just switched to Cricket from Boost, and there are a lot of differences, especially being in a tri-band area! In OKC, I'm using prl 45613. Seems to work well so far. Here are my speed test results:

Thanks to all contributors for the hard work. As I become familiar with Cricket I will add what I find.

I searched on here when I first flashed my phone and had to use a generic PRL, and then *228 my phone and re-do my QPST and NV items. Just to save someone some time I can verify that 35513 is the current PRL for Spokane, WA. I have also downloaded the PRL to a file using QPST if anyone needs it .

edit - forgot to attach the PRL... geez! done

When you press *228 what do you do after that? It brings me to another dial pad.
It tries to get me to activate it, I'm using a DroidX.

you follow the directions, keep in mind it will wipe alot of your flash, and you will have to redo all the CDMA workshop and QPST steps. Also have to redo your apn. (but the program will give you the local PRL)

Ohhh, thanks. I'm not doing that I guess. Especially since MIUI won't let me program.

For everyone who blindly asks "whats the best prl" without trying them out first, here is my attempt to answer that question for my flashed Dinc in Houston. I'm on the $45 plan using GreenkProV2 so the $55 android plan could have different results. I did not drive outside Houston to test roaming areas. I did not test SMS or MMS. I used Signal Strength Free and Speedtest.net. The tests were done back to back within an hour. The results could be somewhat different on different days or in different cities with different phones and plans. For each PRL, the signal was pretty constant. I "speedtested" two or three times for better results since the up speed varied alot compared to the down speed. Having no signal results in a -120 reading on my phone. A -77 signal is better than a -90 signal(wiki it).

    Observations:
    1. I made a test call with each PRL and the call went thru. Therefore, the "wrong" PRL probably wont stop you from making or receiving a call as long as there is a tower in the area.
    2. Hybrid PRL's give a better signal but worse up/down data speed. But might help you out in roaming/AWS areas.
    3. 1X PRL's gave terrible ping/speed which was expected.
    4. The Signal Strength seems unrelated to the PRL. Hybrids were in the -77 range and regular PRL's were in the -92 range.
    5. Regular PRL's were not "drastically different" from each other.
    6. I went with the 45722 PRL since im on the slower $45 plan and need the speed.
    7. I'm wondering about a PRL's geographical influence and if they have more meaning for those in AWS or remote areas??

    EDIT --- 02/29/2012
I cobbled together some Frankenstein PRL's just to see what they would do. Again the up speed varied a lot. Here they are:

60681/45722 ....-93/3G.... 175/73/255 (sprint 60681 as the first file in the joining process. Calling worked)
45613/10037 ....-89/1X..... 933/35/FAIL (10037is a boost mobile PRL, roaming symbol appeared, calling still worked)
    45722/49016 ....-94/3G.... 279/28/744
    45513/42900....-94/3G.... 178/135/274
    45722/6499......-94/3G.... 182/111/300
45513/50199....-79/ ..... FAIL (because it connects to verizon and cant make a call. 50199 is a verizon PRL)

    thunderbolt/ verizon

I'm getting ready to flash this phone. I'm located in south carolina and I didn't notice a prl for this region. Is it possible that my current prl list/file would work? Also, I know
My Spc is 000000, but what does the *228 codes have to do with the prl & spc codes.

Sorry, I've rooted, but never flashed. No $ to pay right now, so I must attempt on my own. I plan to use my buddy's cricket #, but he uses the $35 plan, I was going to switch up after flash... Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated...

Can someone post PRL 45706? Or let me know how to get it off an Ascend 2? And/or have a better PRL for Arizona.

Google how to use QPST to extract a prl. Try out each PRL in this forum, find the "best prl" for your phone and report back your results.
