Gave up on Cricket long time ago.. Really no point in bothering with Cricket and flashing CDMA phones these days. There are many better options with GSM MVNOs now, who have better plans, and flexibility of any SIM based phones. Simple Mobile, GoSmart Mobile, Ultra - take your pick. Cricket is history.

My old CDMA flashed Verizon incredible running CM 4.2 is working beautifully on the $50 plan. No need for me to spend months chasing pennies looking for a better plan.

    Sent from my rotary phone.

There is no "spending months" involved.. Just as an example, GoSmart Mobile offers $35/month unlimited voice/text/data plan. You may like giving $15 extra a month to a cell phone company.. well, I don't.

And you just pop a SIM into any phone of your choice (including iPhone) and go. No flashing CDMA phones, downloading the "right" PRL files, or any of this nonsense I see people on this forum struggling with. Speak of wasting one's time!

Well good for you. Not sure if your point about a 3-year old Android phone working on Cricket is supposed to be impressing someone..

One doesn't. You need an unlocked GSM phone. Which is the whole point of GSM - you can easily switch phones or providers by moving SIM cards between phones. No flashing or carrier activations needed.
