what is anycut? Also, I had a question. Do I have to be on the $45 plan to be able to send mms? I am on the $35 plan but somehow I have internet. I was just wondering if there was a way to activate mms also.

Any plan works. As long it has mms on the plan. Anycut is app in market that let u get a shortcut of a setting that u want. Apn is setting u want, so that u can get mms to work. Google it and read the different way u can put the setting to get mms to work.

Training conditions sucked. It was a good experience though. Unfortunately the unit we went to support lost a soldier. Anyways... I have a zip file with some Optimus S files in it. Have you tried those? I thought I post them in the Optimus S forum.

That sucks, it is always a sad day when a fellow soldier goes down. Now what files are you refering to? There a few threads in the optimus s forum and I don't know if I have tried them all yet.

    Droid X2

Hi, I know I'm new here and new to flashing phones, but not new to androids/mods and more... lol... Anyway I wanted to post that first I really appreciate what everyone here is doing to help out. This is quickly becoming my fav forum for my phone(s).

I also wanted to point out what I did to get my mms working on my Droid X2 tonight, which I unfortunately toiled with for quite awhile looking at may posts here and elsewhere before doing some research and trial and error of my own to make it work.

First I did a full APN drop and reprogram with Anycut... I am not using the extra long MMSC text that is given in this thread, though I can't see how it could hurt and will probably try adding it on just to see what happens (if any change) to my current APN settings...

The thing that worked for me, (I know, everyones having slightly different issues) was not mentioned in many other posts around the web but actually is passed over here... and that is

    APN TYPE:

While my instructions for flashing said to leave this blank (Which it was) this one change to 'default, mms' for APN type (without the 'tick' marks) immediately let me start sending AND receiving mms messages. Oh happy day, I now have a fully flashed X2, talk, text, web/data, and mms... (Thanks goes out to all, again, I'm working on backtracking and giving some rep out as I go back through the forum)

Here are my full APN settings as they have them... I realize it won't work for everyone but I truly hope it works for even one frustrated person... Happy Sunday All

    Name: Cricket
    APN: internet
    Proxy: wap.mycricket.com:8080
    Port: 8080
Username: myphonenumber@mycricket.com (Note, phone number is in 9999999999 format)
    Password: cricket
    Server: wap.mycricket.com
    MMSC:
    http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

(again, I haven't added the extra line onto this yet but mine is working right now like this, maybe try both ways?)
    MMS Proxy: wap.mycricket.com
    MMS Port: 8080
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 004
    Authentication Type: PAP or CHAP
    APN Type: default,mms
    APN Protocol: IPv4

One last tip, remember when working with any code or programming, change one thing at a time, try it, change one thing, try it... that way you know what worked for you and what your settings need to be... (patience young skywalker)

Ok, thats it... Hope it helps someone.
