How to change the baseband or what to do to improve signal??

Hi I have a droid x2. It is rooted with 2.3.3. Before I updated it I had all bars most of the time. After I updated it I have one and sometimes nothing. i have tried many prls and nothing.I read somewhere that maybe by changing the baseband it might improve. The prl that worked the best was 45713 hybrid, but the bad thing is that it goes to roaming and it does not let me make calls. Please help

im having the same issue and i too am in el paso. i found that changing the prl to the cricket prl increases signal dramatically, but you will lose 3g and will only have 1x
