My Epic 4G is rooted, no service since August 2011 (I use it as an android and wifi device, like a tablet I guess). I am with Cricket on the $45 plan using the TXTM8 phone. So I'm guessing I have to flash the phone first, using this tutorial, then simultaneously change the active phone on my account while upgrading to the $55 plan? I'd rather be on a $55 plan by the way, since I would be using an Android.

Also, I don't see any PRLs for the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, just Charlotte. I do visit Charlotte a lot, in fact I plan on moving there. But what do I do for the Raleigh area while I am here?

I have everything working but picture messaging on my Samsung sprint epic 4g flashed to cricket by someone at the flea market who was selling the phone. Any suggestions?

Is my MSID supposed to be the same as my phone number?

You just need to input it correctly. And obtain it from cricket. ##000000# or ##MSL/SPC# if you didnt write it to 0's

So if I took it to Cricket now to put on my account, it wouldn't function right? I'll go back into QPST and poke around and see what I can do.

Okay, the MSID is called somethingn else in QPST, so I changed it to the MIN I have in my ZTE TXTM8. At least that's solved.

When I go into the status of my phone, will it always say the network is Sprint?

Looks like everything is set, the only thing left is for me to go to the Cricket store and put it on my account. Oddly enough, seems I can use data (its slow data since I'm not on an Android plan yet), and receive calls and texts, I just can't make calls and texts. It comes and goes, but basically both phones will ring and receive the text messages.

You are on the network with both phones provisioned hence the reason why you have traffic on both, I would make a recommendation but you will figure it out.

Then why did you respond at all, Mr. E? Seriously, I would like to know.

If I was able to figure this out I wouldn't be here. And if I had figured it out I would have said so. Since we're not in PMs these posts aren't just for you, they are for anyone that may know what is going on and who can can help me, and also in case anyone is going through the same thing. If you won't help, since for some bizarre reason your posts are suddenly tailored exactly like the post I responded to, since you're already keeping your wondrous knowledge to yourself, I'd appreciate it if you did so without saying so like some sort of cyberspace Cliff Clavin. Or not, I can't make you do anything I just know further "I would but..." posts like that will be ignored.

Sorry to the mods, but that was kind of ridiculous.

I was actually coming to this thread to see if Mr E should be put on ice for a few days, but he has offered up some help to you. A lot of these questions have been addressed before in each tutorial thread.
Please check the forum and post there before PMing me. I have over 674 unread PMs due to the fact that they are issues which should have been addressed here.

And in the tutorial for the QPST, I know. Anything that I may have missed, I take full responsibility for that. But his response had nothing to do with information already available, it was along the lines of "I have a secret". I have no idea where that came from, cause he did give me help before, and we had a good dialogue in PMs.

    Que sera.

In any case, like I mentioned before, I am ready, I believe both phone being on the network is a good sign, its just my final step is going to the cricket store. I won't be able to do that till Tuesday, but at least this thread helped me get to that point.

Have you checked out the forum store or membership packages. You don't have to wait to get it changed over.
