Can you sbf a droid 2 "Gingerbread 2.3.3" to 2.2 froyo?

I have 2.3.3 on my phone, It came with it when I bought the phone. And now I can't use z4root to root the device. I have tried other methods aswell and it seems rooting it can't be done unless you sbf back to froyo. Has someone already written a guide on this forum? if so could someone point me in the right direction.

    Thanks,

P.S. yes I am a newbie, pardon the dumb questions.

[ROOT/UNROOT] Droid 3 root instructions (One Click added for Windows/ Linux/ OSX)

    - Works for all Motorola devices running 2.3.3

And yes, you can sbf back to froyo if you like.

One Click Super Root by ShortFuse

Use this One Click Super Root by ShortFuse.
You can get this from Xd- developers website. It worked for my Droid 2 Global that was already running Android OS 2.3.3
