    Droid 2 Gingerbread 2.3.3 Release - Prerooted

    SOURCE: p3droid FROM MYDROIDWORLD.COM (
    Droid 2 Gingerbread (2.3.3) - Release - PreRooted

    )

Well this is what we all were waiting for, Gingerbread, Droid2 and Root

    Follow these directions carefully.

    To get back to stock:

    1. Grab the SBF File
You must start the process with your phone running the official 2.3.20. If you have already upgraded to gingerbread grab this 2.3.20 sbf file ....
    Download

    2. Grab RSDlite
You must use RSDLite to use the sbf file from step 1 ....
    RSDLite

    3. Grab the Drivers Drivers ....
    Download now

    4. Run RSDLite and sbf your phone back to 2.3.20. This is done by booting the device into the bootloader. Hold down the camera button and volume down button. Then hit the power button while still holding the other buttons. It should immediately go to the bootloader. Open RSDLite. You should see it that the device is recognized. Use the open file button (...) and find the SBF file. After you've selected it, hit start. It will start loading everything. When it gets ready to reboot, hold down the volume down and camera button so you can catch the reboot. I'm not sure if this is very important, but it is the correct way to do it and let RSDLite say finished.

    Hey Guys.
    This process worked for me....

FIRST GET THE D2 ROOTED GB.ZIP FILE ON TO THE SD CARD.

    1. I was on the stock gingerbread for droid 2.

    2. I SBF'ed the phone to stock Froyo(2.3.20).If bootlooping after SBF.
    a. Battery pull.
    b. Hold X and hit the power button, after rebooting. U will see a small triangle with an exclamation mark.
    c. Hit the search button on keyboard. U will see the recovery menu.
    d. wipe data/cache.
    e. reboot.
    3. Activate the phone. And root it with Z4 root. Install Koush's Bootstrap.

    4. Get into bootstrap recovery mode with the koush's bootstrap.

    5. Wipe data/cache. Mount system and data.

    6. Select zip from sd card(the rooted GB.zip)

    7.Flash.

First startup will be atleast 5 mins.

IF BOOTLOOPS then step 2.a to 2.e.

    Hope this helps.

    KNOWN ISSUES

Some known issues a that the keyboard lights can stop coming on. Supposedly a reboot is the only fix for this. Swype does not work for many/all. Uninstall SWYPE and go to their beta site. Sign up and install the newer version.
