Just tried to update my GB version. Went from gbrooted 573 (from this forum) to 591 then 596 deodexed. When I checked out the 591 for a few minutes my apps weren't working again. This was the same issue I had originally when going to the 573 from Froyo. I figured I would try and fix this app problem when I got the 596 rom loaded. I did the U2nl and autostart again, but couldn't figure out how to get the apps to work with the internet. Any help? I was thinking that Omega90ls had a similar issue and was going to try and use the autostart95, but I am now confused by those saying it doesn't matter. I will read up on that thread that was posted.
Also for cricket users does it matter what radio band it is? I think you have to update with 588 before 596 to get your radio band from .09? to 12p.
I've since gone back to my working version of 573, until I can figure this out.

Basically, that sums it up. My text, mms and the internet browser all work using 3G, but no apps that use the web. Tried deleting the APN and rebooting then replacing it, tried replacing U2nl and autostart. Removed the proxy settings. Nothing seemed to work.

Tried it again using file expert. Mounted both u2nl and autostart, and made both read/write. Powered off/on and still didn't get it working. I tried to read through the other thread, but that is mainly getting mms to work, not my problem. It would be nice to have a better understanding of how the apps connect differently. Doesn't make sense to a Noob like me that the browser connects, but apps don't. I would think you would get all or nothing. Still have the same problem with my wifes Eris, might help me get that one figured out also. It has to be something stupid I have missed.
What was Bigshot talking about in this post:

Try pushing the attached to /system/etc/init.d. Make sure to rename it without the .txt extension.

I'll try anything at this point. If not I'll just drop back to the 573 release. Only difference I've noticed anyway is the 3G icon isn't blue. Not worth it not having the apps usable.

Did you mount the whole folder and not just the file also the file has to be checked mark when you give the permission...just saying incase u didnt...

So on the build 573 everything works? If you can't get I would just stick to that...not worth the headache and all the time in front of your computer..lol

    I'm out of ideas

as I'm on build 573 ...hopefully someone else can chime in
