    2. Put phone into bootstrap recovery

    3. Install the file you downloaded above

    4. Sit back and watch (Your phone will bootloop for approx 30 secs, if any longer than that, pull battery and restart your phone.

You should now have gingerbread and it should be rooted.

    5. You have to use D2 Bootstrap on Gingerbread, DX bootstrap won't work.Get it here
    Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap v1.0.0.3.apk

    6. If you're having Sync Issues After flash you need to Go back and do a Factory Reset in Stock Recovery. It helps if you do it multiple times. I usually do it 3 or 4 at a minimum.

    7. IF YOU FOLLOW P3Droid ON TWITTER YOU ALREADY SAW THAT IF YOU WANT TO KEEP ROOT THEN YOU SHOULD NOT EXCEPT THE OTA. TO HELP THAT NOT HAPPEN RENAME UPGRADE.APK TO UPGRADE.BAK IN /SYSTEM/APP

    8. Apps missing from your market? Here's an easy fix compliments of JRummy. Get it here.

It took me forever to find the correct SBF file. When I found it everyone else seemed to be dl it also. Doubt I can put in a link, but made a torrent. Search for VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf

It behaves the same way when flashing.

This comes from p3droid at MyDroidWorld, and I believe this is the preferred Gingerbread upgrade method for the time being. OTA version = no root. Go with this. Very stable.

Official DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.596) Release Thread - Something for everyone

Hey all, its been a long time since you have seen a leak. LOL. WAIT, this isn't a leak, this is the official release of Gingerbread by Motorola and
    Verizon

    .

    UPGRADE PATHS

    Method One
The first method to upgrade to gingerbread from froyo is to sbf you phone back to stock froyo (2.3.340) and await for the upgrade OTA. (BAD IDEA)

    Method Two
The second method to upgrade to gingerbread from froyo is to sbf you phone back to stock froyo (2.3.340) and use the 2 install files from below.

    Method Three
The third method is for anyone currently running a Gingerbread leak (588/591/595). You can just install the appropriate zip right over the top of your previous build.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MOST CURRENT RADIO .12P THEN YOU WILL NEED TO SBF BACK TO .340 AND THEN USE METHOD 2.

None of this would be possible without the BUBBA and many others, so we all say thank you very much.

    Basic Directions:

    Downloadthe zip
    Reboot phone into Clockwork Recovery
    Install the
    Zip file

    .

Okay, So I did it the way the Original Poster mentioned by SBFing my system back to original. I wiped all user account info by holding down Home while powering up. I transfered Z4root, DXGBROOTED.zip and Droid 2 Bootstrap to my phones root. Installed the two applications. Rooted the phone. Booted into bootstrap. Loaded the dxgbrooted.zip file. rebooted the system.

Now my phone is programmed for Verizon again. How do I load it back onto cricKet now?

    What's the next step?

I heard you can update the GB by simply manually applying the zip files over the existing, like manually hot patching. Where can I find the patches? Should I patch before converting back to CricKet?

Okay, so now that I have it done,
