If you installed the rom I said then you must've gotten that airport mode. Holy crap that was a PITA to figure out after it happened to me after I made that post. I sbf'd and reinstalled everything. My phone still randomly hits "airport mode" and a simple reboot fixes that.

I didn't quite understand how Google Voice worked and that was the issue. I decided not to run ics until cricket steps their game up and officially support ics. I went back to a GB ROM I use as a daily driver instead.

Have used CM9 and Gummy nightlies and official releases (even though CM9 isn't officially supported on my phone by the CM team) all without luck. Have tried a few different ics roms and couldn't get mms to receive in my market. I'll just wait until they rollout the Merc ICS update and go from there.

My work on the CDMA Cricket S3 and S4 are now obsolete. Thanks for all the support when I was actively working on them!

Feel free to PM me only after you've posted on the forums.

Kicking a semi dead thread. I finally managed to get MMS working perfectly even without GoSMS Pro. (Not debating on how nice it is)

Using HiAPN and another MMS apk, my mms works perfectly until I try to send while wifi is connected, but that is my own stupidity.

    apnlist_backup.xml is as follows:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="true"?>
    -<apns><apn type="default,supl,mms" mmsc="http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms?X-Cricket-MDN=0000000000" mmsprotocol="" mmsport="8080" mmsproxy="" port="" proxy="" password="cricket" server="" user="0000000000@mycricket.com" apn="cricket" mnc="004" mcc="310" numeric="310120" name="Cricket"/></apns>

Replacing zeros in user and in mmsc with my 10 digit phone number. The apk is from an unknown 4.0.2 build of Android, but it works. I have the zip file with the apk and the apnlist_backup.xml file if anyone is interested.

If you break it you bought it. Just helping and I'm not responsible for anything you break on your phone... just saying.

So the apk that I link at the bottom of this post is golden. I use it without HiAPN or GoSMS to send AND recieve. Using some kind of root browser (I use the one in Rom Toolbox personally because it supports zip files) you need to take the Mms1.apk put of the zip and place it in /system/app and make sure the one that is in there named Mms.apk (notice the number one in the zip file version) needs to be either moved or deleted. The one in the zip file is like 624k and the one that came in CM9 is ~2MB.

I am using the APN settings as follows and I think is case sensitive:

    Name: Cricket
    APN: cricket
    Proxy:<Not Set>
    Port:<Not Set>
Username: XXXXXXXXXX@mycricket.com (replace Xs with your number)
    Password: cricket
    Server:<Not Set>
    MMSC:
    http://mms(dot)mycricket(dot)com/servlets/mms?X-Cricket-MDN=XXXXXXXXXX

(replace Xs again and change (dot) to the actual . )
    MMS Proxy:<Not Set>
    MMS Port: 8080
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 004
    Auth Type:<Not Set>
    APN type: default,supl,mms
    APN Protocol: IPv4
    APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4

This is on the $55 plan. idk if Gummy has the Voice dialer, but you can grab APN Shortcut by mraabhimself off the Play Store and make a new APN with these settings. I made a dropbox account for the zip of the apk, but it is not flashable. Sorry.

The APK is off a 4.0.2 build of Android, but works on the 7/16/12 build of CM9(4.0.4). Haven't flashed Gummy since I can't find the zip of the last posted nightly to test it.

    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/96100517/cr...0mms%20apk.zip

    Side Note:
Using this APN and apk, I can send and receive while still connected to wifi but it seems like it is only @ 1x speeds.

You are truly a King among men in the MMS World!! This Method works like a charm on Gummynex ICS 4.04 on both my droids. (R2D2 & a normal Droid 2 a955)

Using LiquidICS. Does anyone notice when sending an sms above 160characters (split sms) the recipient receives nothing but garbled symbols and numbers/letters?

The only thing I have done differently, is remove all the vzw apns, and added the cricket apn.

Im trying to still troubleshoot this issue. What I've found so far, is that multiple working MMS apks all exhibit the same garbled messages.
    BUT
Its only when sending to a different carrier. Send a long text message to a cricket phone, and it goes through (send to my wifes phone and a friends -- all came through just fine).

So, that leaves me wondering why that is. Could be something with the apn programming.
I'll post more when I know more.

---------- Post added at 05:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:51 PM ----------

Instead of trying to troubleshoot this issue, Im going to work on building a new cricket-compatible mms.apk with split message support instead. Seems like the easier fix.

Shouldnt take _too_ long to compile. I'll update the thread when Im done.
