    Rooted or unrooted?
    Unrooted:
    *4shared-get paid apps for free
*Battery Dr.+task killer- access to task killer and settings, easy to use.
*File Expert- Backup apps, access contents on sdcard.
*Beautiful Widgets-(can be downloaded for free on 4shared app) current weather and clock.
    Rooted:
*Rom Toolbox Pro- (can be downloaded for free on 4shared app) Change boot image, fonts, over clock, bunch of other stuff.
*Rom Manager- Get to recovery menu easier than turning off phone and turning back on, or pulling out the battery.
*ES File Explorer or File Expert Pro- get to the root of the phone and change files, less complicated but less stuff than Rom Toolbox Pro
*Ad Away, No Ads- Takes away all the pesky ads from the free apps.

Personally, i am rooted, using cwm recovery, rom manager pro, superuser elite, titanium backup set cpu, battery v.2.0.4(widget) because i like to see percentage of battery power and the stock power saver widget that comes on the Merc (shuts off wifi, Bluetooth, gps, auto sync, brightness, etc.-great at extending battery power better than the play store widgets) that's about it for now. Phone is quick and accurate. I haven't had any issues whatsoever, even with freezing a few apps with titanium backup!
