    Safe To Download CM7?

I rooted my phone, Installed Busy Box, SetCPU, and ROM Manager. I want to get ROMs, but the last time I downloaded a ROM, My phone got bricked. .___. Maybe because I chosed the wrong phone brand or whatever. Anyways, My question is, Is it safe to download CM 7? If so, what version should I get? Also, if any one has free time to reply to this thread, Can you show a guide on what to do after rooting your phone and downloading ROM Manager? Last time I rooted, I had to get the terminal to change something for me to install busy box, but this time, I didn't have to. Do I still need to do that?

Big future thanks to whoever helps me out here.

I've never had to do any terminal instructions to install busybox, I don't even personally know what it does. There isn't a current build of CM7 for the oC, AFAIK.

So I shouldn't be messing with the ROM manager till then. What else is there to do with a rooted phone if you can't get CM with it at the moment?

If you want a recovery manager, I was able to get this one working:

[Custom Recovery] Xionia Clockwork (CWMA v1.2518.6) - Android Forums

Rom manager doesn't support the Optimus C (as you can tell from the list when you try to flash the recovery), so I wouldn't even bother with it right now. But, regardless, it's only for nandroid backups until someone releases a ROM for us.

ROM MANAGER will BRICK a Cricket lg lw690. Need A proper recovery first. I've seen many threads in this forum you can follow look into 2.2.1 stock recovery, amon_ra or xonia for a start.

Xiona is NOT an option. Know that now. My blog explains why.You know better than to even mention that by now johnny if you actually read the post when I do. You sure comment.

Thank you Thomas for that heads up on XIONA. I never personally never used it, but known some who had. Without a hitch. I use 2.2.1 and a correctly partioned SD card and never had any problem. CM7LG works for me perfectly so far. Thanks for the port. And the info.

No problem. How did you install CM7 though without a recovery?

Don't use that rom. Optimus M roms will flash now but they cause later issues i've noticed.

That one in particular causes GPS and data issues. My data stopped working completely on it. You really should NOT flash that because it's using the m's kernel and not the C's. One of the roms i have coming out is a modified version with the C's kernel.
