Heck, at this point it seems that it would be worth $9.99 for the app and avoid all this headache to begin with.

Okay, found a flash_image file at
    Flash image - CyanogenMod Wiki

. put the file on my sdcard next to the other one and viola. Installed with Terminal Emulator. Running CWM now, backing up phone. Fingers crossed the rest goes easier lol.
Yeah that's good you put the recovery image file on there first lulz. Awesome! so far so good!

I'm loving CM7 now that I have it fully operational. I still have a few bugs to figure out. I learned that you have to install one thing at a time, re boot, then install the add ons, (such as gapps, and mms fix). I still am unable to send or receive mms before and after applying mms fix zip file. Also tried adding the plague file to check it out, but the phone won't load past the cm7 loading screen. I let it sit there for 30 minutes and still nothing happened so I gave up. Has anybody been able to run that, maybe some trick I don't know about to make it work. Same with the mms.
Also thank you for all the help on here you guys! Couldn't do it without all of you!
