In order to bypass the blur activation, slide open your keyboard and type:
    Fn, E, Fn, E, B, L, U, R, O, F, F
I won't lie, this phone is kind of a pain to flash, there is not much development on it and I believe that it is running 1.6. You will want to flash it similar to the other motorola flashes on these forums. Talk, text, and 3g are done fairly easy once you get it hooked up to qpst/workshop, but mms is a pain, at least for me it was but I have not done one in quite some time. Also I found that many apps do not run properly if at all on this phone.

Bypass the activation screen. Put the phone phone in PC mode (I think it will say modem or something like that). Download the prl (you will just need to get drivers and the phone will show as a diag port on your computer).
Put the phone on the account. Dial *228. Program it. Then connect it to wifi (you will totally need wifi for it). Then set up that motoblur account so the phone does not revert the flash. Once motoblur is created, write NV items, and EVDO settings. I like to send NV first, then write Evdo, and then send NVs again.
When that's done, 3g will be stable.

Picture messaging needs an app called APN controller. You do that. Then edit the only apn it has. You edit the MMSC part and change the vtext in it to mycricket. Save it. Tap on the circle to activate that APN. And you will be set.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

Step 1: Get a different phone.

The Devour is a antique piece of crap IMO. You'd be far better off trying to find something newer.

I completely agree Woof. It would be a good idea to get a different phone. To me the devour seems like an android experiment gone horribly wrong.

If you want to flash an android to Cricket even if you are short on funds, pick up a Droid 1. Even though this phone is old, it is light years ahead of the devour and has a very good amount of development for it. Still runs well on Cricket and you could pick one up cheap. Also it is pretty simple to flash.
