Just so you know most huaweis will not boot to bootloader, they will just reboot. So the issue is most likely because you are trying to boot to bootloader "IE Fastboot" with the script and instead it just reboots the device, you should force the user to manly place in fastboot. I have't downloaded the script i'm just assuming.

Yea I'm not familiar with it since I dont own the phone, did play with it once though. When rebooting to boot loader it should stay on the huawei logo for fast boot (from my studies of this phone), then it runs the script to flash recovery. By any chance would you know how to boot into fast boot manually? So I could update the script to have a optional was to boot into boot loader and continue the script. It worked for some, and not for others (just the recovery part that is)

Pretty sure its because its just rebooting from my experience almost none of them stay in fast boot, they simply just boot. I don't know the button combo if i had to guess its VOL DOWN, END KEY + PWR hold for about 10 secs, the white or black huawei screen should appear frozen.

Hmm I don't think it has a end key since its all touch, but I'll look into that maybe ask a fellow cu here to try it out and boot into boot loader.

Boot your phone into fastboot mode (poweroff, then hold Volume Down + Power for 10 seconds). Your phone should remain at the white screen with the Huawei logo.

    Quick google search.

The first page leads us to an FPT download link. There is no file you mention earlier, just the Fastroot PLUS.exe.

OK I've been flashing for a while but a real new nuby at rooting. I have avoided the subject as it seemed there were always dozens of steps and files to download. Tonight I started researching one click methods and found Fastroot +. I downloaded it and since I had an LG Revolution connected that I am trying to flash, thought I would play around. I downloaded APNbackup/restore and in an instant, there it was on the LG Rev. I was impressed. Before I actually try an root anything, my question is what phones will this program root? Obviously the Mercury and the Ascend 2 but what others, and do you have to use a certain one of the 3 programs for different phones? As I stated above, I am as green as grass when it comes to rooting.

This will root almost anything on 2.2-2.3.x

Give it a try and let use know the outcome.

If it doesnt work no harm done.

How do you know if you sucussfully rooted your phone? I got to the point where it is simply blinking this.

I did however successfully do the fastboot thing, and it popped up saying "Hardware Successfully installed" or something. I then tried just turning it on, and it didn't say I was rooted. When I tried doing the fast boot again, it made a "dun-dun" sound and wouldn't be recognized by my PC. :?
