    Looking at the ascend 2

I have been using cricket for years. My first android from them was the original ascend which I liked. I then got the zte score which was ok and then got the blackberry curve.

I like the bb but am thinking of going back to android and have been looking at the ascend 2. What is the advantage of the 2 over the original?

My main use will be as a phone, occasional browsing and my 2 most used apps are tapatalk and a paid subscription to slacker radio.

    Any advice appreciated.

Dont waste your money, you will just be upset when your onboard storage is absorbed in a matter of seconds

Naahhhh...just use an App2sd, or link2sd and you can get plenty of storage. The A2 is, once you root it, multi-touch. It is faster/snappier than the Ascend. It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack (cause 2.5 sucks!). To me, the screen seems brighter and more responsive. Finally , if you like customizing your phone, there are some good ROM's out there. A pertty good price, for not a bad phone. I hope this was helpful.

Limited space, I have seen people install and uninstall apps to only regain a portion of the absorbed memory, also I have seen the phone not be able to update existing apps due to storage issues and these customers did not have very many apps installed outside of shipped apps.

Appreciate the responses, I think I will do a little more research. Which phone would be a better choice?

i recommend the mercury if you're looking for something that has larger internal storage, and a bigger display. it is the best phone cricket has ever had so far.

That is true but I've also heard it has a lot of issues with battery and hardware problems like it just dies never comes back gets very hot. Most mods for it aren't working. Upside its fast and with few tweaks I'm sure I'll like it. Also heard they will be bringing HTC to cricket soon with 4.0 ics I'll have to take a look at mercury again and see how to remove muve off it

Go with a Vitality or Mercury if you want a cricket branded phone, or wait for the HTC. If you want a flashed phone I am using the Galaxy S2 which is a nice phone, wife is using the Razr, I had the iPhone it was ok not bad, Galaxy S3 is nice, anything with a dual core processor and lots of onboard storage

I've looked at vitality not a fan of muve so I would have to remove it or downgrade then I don't know ics has been ported to vitality yet. As far as flashed phones I'm looking into them . Links2sd has helped me with internal storage so far I could only imagine what a gig or 2 internal be like using links
