    Post LG Optimus S Flash to Cricket Talk, Text, MMS, Data $45 Proxied Plan

    HOW TO FULL FLASH SPRINT LG OPTIMUS S TO CRICKET

    I would like to put out these are the original instructions by 154-4bdu114h and chrisngrod I do not take full credit for the tutorial!

    All Files linked Here :
    Cricket_Optimus_S_Proxied.zip

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Talk and Text
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    (1) Install the drivers for your device.
    (2) Connect to CDMA workshop and read SPC (LG method), then write to 000000.
    (3) Write the PRL of your choice.
    (4) Write your MDN and MIN
    (5) Go to
    linux, android, and cute bunnies - whiterabbit.org

    to get the NVedit file which would be the MDN@mycricket.com_cdma27 file)
    (6) Go to memory, Click write in the NV-items and open MDN@mycricket.com_cdma27 file to write NV items.

    If everything was done properly you will now have Talk and Text, these settings should stick
    without any problem. But if something weird happens just do it again.

    For the PRL I suggest trying chrisngrod's new Cricket/Sprint Hybrid PRL, since reportedly you
    may be able to use talk and text in areas where flashed phones normally do not pick up. This
    PRL must be written with QPST, as of yet it doesn't work with CDMA workshop.

    2. Obtaining Root and Flashing Custom Recovery
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    If you know what are you doing, or don't want to bother with custom ROM's you can skip this part.
    If you decide not to use the Cricket ROM by Error420 you will need to install the Indulge's MMS.apk,
    push telephony.db, and possibly adjust the APNs.

    (1) Use wifi to connect to market and download your favourite file explorer
    (2) Get gingerbreak from
    [26.04.2011][v1.2] GingerBreak APK (root for GingerBread) - xda-developers

    (3) Install and run gingerbreak, You should now have rooot.

    Now we can flash a custom recovery in order to install the LG Optimus S Cricket rom created by error420

    Instructions and recovery image can be found here

    All In One Recovery Thread - Android Forums

    You will need to use flash_image in order to flash the custom recovery image, instructions and download are here

    Flash image - CyanogenMod Wiki

    If you have already updated to ZVH (2.3.3 Gingerbread Stock) or you're still on ZVD there is a nice automated script for rooting without downgrading to ZVD, you can also install custom recovery with it.. IMPORTANT NOTE: IF you are on ZVH and plan on flashing a custom rom, or following this tutorial to the T, then please do not use this, DOWNGRADE TO ZVD FIRST! Flash the update.zip, then you can continue once downgraded.. I just messed up the radio in one of my devices by flashing the custom rom without downgrading to ZVD. Instructions on downgrading to ZVD can be found using Google.
    Check it out here:
    [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD/ZVH (100% automated, no revert needed) - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    3. Flashing a Custom Rom
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    USE CM7 PORT KNOWN AS "THE SCOTT PILGRIM ROM", I have started to use this exclusively as it is a decent ROM that rids you of the Sprint bloatware and it is easy to get MMS working every time.

    Download and instructions are here
    [DEAD ROM]The Scott Pilgrim ROM (CM7 Gingerbread, Zefie Edition) - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    4. WAP / DATA
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    (1)Connect phone to QPST v2.7 build 323. Ignore the fact that it will say "The phone has stopped responding to read/write commands."
    (2) input the following settings

    UNDER M.IP TAB
    * Change Active User - 0
    * Change Registration Retries - 1
    * Mobile IP Behaviour - Simple
    * Initial Registration Retry Interval - 1750ms

    M.IP TAB > EDIT BOTH PROFILES TO MATCH FOLLOWING
    * User > YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com
    * HA and AAA shared secret > Text String > cricket
    * MN-HA-SPI > 12c
    * MN-AAA SPI > 2
    * DMU Public and DMU Mobile > 0
    * Rev Tunnel Preferred > Leave Checked
    * Home Address > 0.0.0.0
    * Primary HA > 0.0.0.0
    * Secondary HA > 0.0.0.0
    * Do the same for both profiles, just in case, but uncheck profile enabled on the 2nd

    UNDER PPP CONFIG TAB
    > Um
    * Input YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com in Tethered NAI and User ID
    * Password > cricket
    >AN
    * Input YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com in User ID
    * Password > cricket

    (3) Write to phone and wait for reboot.

    NOTE: If you go back into QPST it will revert some settings back to Sprint.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    5. MMS
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Use Modified telephony.db (thanks whiterabbit)

    (1) Install greenk45pro

    (2) Copy ES File Explorer, Autostart root, Autostart.sh, Scriptrunner over to sd card as well as telephony.db, Mms.apk, and the APN. Proxied APN inside for $45 plan only!

    (3) Install Es file explorer and go to settings and check the box that says root explorer and mount file system. Got to Home directory and delete everything except the first forward slash. Press back on the phone until you come to the home screen of es file explorer.

    (4) Goto Data folder and click it and now hit menu, new, folder. name it to opt. Press back, goto sdcard and find the autostart.sh file and long press it. Select copy, press back, goto data/opt and swipe up on the screen then select the autostart.sh.

    (5) Press back, goto sdcard and select autostart root and install and scriptrunner. No U2nL file is needed due to greenk 45 putting one in already.

    (6) Goto Es File explorer and goto the Proxied Apn and click on it and edit. With the proxied apn your going to have to put your phone number in 2 places those places should say 10DIGITMOBILE@mycricket.com

    (7) Save it and exit.

    (8) Then copy the new modified apns-conf.xml to the clipboard and go to /system/etc/ check the permissions of the current apns-conf.xml by long clicking on it and selecting properties. Next, delete the original apns-conf.xml file and replace it with the one from the sdcard and set permissions.

    (9) Now go back to Es file explorer and goto sdcard, find the Mms.apk, longpress select copy, go back, goto system/app and swipe up on screen and select Mms and overwrite the original Mms.apk.

    (10) Install Script runner apk and auto start apk

    (11) longpress on home screen and goto widgets and select scriptrunner. set the settings to your liking. Mine is set to a timed internval of 2 minutes. Reboot phone.

    If autostart desn't kick in keep rebooting until it does. sometimes it takes more than once for super user to grant root permissions.

    (The reason for autostart.sh, autostart.apk, and scriptrunner on top of greenk45pro is scriptrunner needs the autostart.sh file to run. greenk enables the 3g but scriptrunner keeps it going without cutting off. autostart root activates the autostart.sh file. Mine kept cutting off.)

    If You wish to update your PRL for your market you can by dialing *22804 and it will program, *228 for somereason does not work.
