No, please read through the thread. The question has been asked plenty before.

Please, for the love of god, stay on topic with this. You guys stray so much. The mods on this site don't do anything but patronize those of us who actually contribute. Ffs you guys dont even ask any relevant questions or read any of the thread. A question doesn't need to be asked 12 times in one thread. This isn't fb. This isn't spam forums. This is a place to get help and you all have completely ruined that. I hate this site and almost everyone on it. That's why I barely help. Not to mention most of you don't even do anything but complain and attack other users. It's like freaking middle school. For the love of god if what you have to say doesn't contribute to the thread, just shut up. This is not a thread about revokstars, or ics, or a nodded stock rom, it's a kernel. I won't be posting again. If anyone needs help, learn to read! I've never met a more unorganized useless group of individuals in my life. Only thing more useless then the people on this site is the mods. -.-

    Holy sh!t!!!
    @ Anthony S Burkett:
I understand your issue with dealing with people who cannot stay on topic. Please believe me. I have, for 14 years dealt with "psych/developmentally disabled individuals, in the medical field, who cannot "stay on topic" to save their own lives!!! what I would like to have you understand, and please take no offense to this, is that "not all men are created equally." simply put, people are in these categories: see, touch, do....read, write, read....write, read, write.....and do, correct, do. everyone learns at a different pace and in a different style. what i would like to see is: a little bit of resilience and a bit of professional cordeur when dealing with noobies. please show some consideration for the "unknowing." i have been in forums since the beginning of the "net." in that time, since the early '90's, i have found that, whatever the topic is, it is sure to stray. please don't bash people. understand that everyone has a purpose, a question and an answer. we may not want to hear it, but they have the right and priviledge to answer a post in their own way! thank you anthony, for reading and not being too extreme in your reply.

Re: [KERNEL] Plague kernel for the Huawei Mercury M886/C8860

Awesome... Only thing is it starts out at 1900 not the stock 1401. You need Setcpu to slow it down..

No you need a computer because you need to boot the phone into download mode which is the pink screen.

Ok cool thanks. I figured but I thought I'd check. My girlfriend tends to be a computer hog, but I'll just have to kick her off for a few.

See that's what I was thinking. I was sitting there in the file manager looking in the .cust_backup folder right at the boot.img thinking "I can just paste it right there." But I used the download mode just to be safe.

You're saying it actually worked that way? Hmm. Well either way it's awesome. Phone is so fast and snappy now. My benchmark test is way higher than before too, of course.

You actually could do it that way, it's plain easy for tech people but for those who aren't as much its a much easier way for them to brick their phone because they'll forget to put the permissions or I don't know but someone always finds a way to mess it up as easy as it may be. Which why I'd just recommend the pink screen way.
