Which why I'd just recommend the pink screen way.

Hey I understand totally. It's amazing how people find ways to screw up such simple things. Better safe than sorry. Don't want them blaming you, and certainly don't want people to screw up their phones. Either way this was an easy process.

I used root explorer removed original boot.img and pasted in new one. Long click and make sure permissions are all checked. Worked for me

Well folks, finally some goodies worth having for the Huawei Mercury. This is for Gingerbread!!!

    Added Goodness

    • Overclocking up to 1.9Ghz
    • Interactive governor
    • Smartass2 governor
    • Lagfree governor

    What doesn't work

    • cpu boots @1.9Ghz on first boot, but sticks after setting with a CPU app.

    Requirements

    • Must be rooted
    • Will need a CPU Control app (ROM Toolbox & System Tuner are nice ones )

    How to install

    • Have drivers installed
    • Download & unzip file attached below
    • Installs same as cwm
    • boot phone into download mode (pink screen), from power off, hold volume +/- and power
    • Connect USB Cable
    • Open Nautilus with root privileges (have seen it posted that Windows Explorer works too, but I cannot confirm this)
    • Look for the partition with 252MB and has images & Music
    • Open images
    • drag and drop the unziped boot.img and ok to overwrite old one.
    • Pull battery, re-insert battery and boot as normal.

Just watch your battery. At 1900 it uses almost twice battery than stock 1401..

Time to get the 3800mAh mega battery pack :-) that ought to do the trick. Makes the phone feel really big.....plus it ups the voltage to 4.2v potential output. I wonder what the plague requires or runs best at, voltage-wise?

Will this Kernel allow Kernel Swap to expand memory with a Memory Expander? I am trying to use Swapper2 to expand virtual memory. It can be done but the Kernel must allow for Swapping. It makes a swap file on the SDCard and then uses it to expand your memory up to 4gig. If this one will allow it great. If not can someone fix one up?

It's whatever YOU set it up to do...I know my battery life has trippled since I swithed from ICS last night :-) I love the extra power and options for battery savings! This kernel IS a beast! Thanks again to PG, cause my phone is feeling PhuckinGangsta! Lol B-)
