The CM9 release is in alpha stage right now so a lot of stuff will not be working. I might be wrong but i think it's mostly for testing purposes, to help give PlayfulGod feedback on what's working and what's not.

Technically. The Honor is the GSM version with software differences. Its hard to explain but it's a process to make Honor stuff work on the merc

Slooooow down. There is still a ways to go before talk is made about ANYTHING from ANY PHONE being ported to the Merc...

That said...I believe once this device gets figured out, just about anything will be possible. Still a ton of work...

Exactly this phone is capable of a lot but there's still much work ahead of us. By the way, great finding on the logcat over at UPP.

I don't think so. Not yet. Only thing we've got from the Honor is the ICS Root

Cricket has their own towers, their agreement with Sprint is for roaming and filling in some holes in coverage, so its not like Cricket will go away even if the contract expires.

Upgrades always go through the carrier, and I never believed Cricket would update the Merc. However, the presence of Radio Shack apps on the ICS leak makes it obvious it was intended for the Mercury Ice. Not sure why that didn't happen, but at any rate, now that the ball has started rolling on CM9, that will be better than stock anyway.

Yea the current CM9 release is just a tester. Not in any way meant to be a dialy driver yet, tho I dont think its too far from that. I used fredjv's u8860 repo as a base for the Mercury m886/c8860.

Now that you're over the bootloader hurdle, I've no doubt that you'll do great things with this. Your ROMs are always the most stable for everyday use, which is the most important thing IMO. I'm sure this will be no different by the time you're done. Thanks for taking the time, I know you have a lot going on right now.

I've not touched the bootloader, its still the stock one from GB. I found a u8860 repo for cm9/10 on github by fredjv and used it as a base for the merc.

Are there any other ROMs we can try now? And if anyone can help with this question I have, you can. Can you check out this thread for me? I'd appreciate it. Google Now for ICS?

Hey PG, thanks for the hard work! I'm somewhat new to this and have a few questions...so you can leave the stock GB bootloader (boot.img and recovery.img) alone and port CM9 which is JB on top of that without issues or does that impose problems that have to be overcome? Also we had a custom recovery (cwm) for stock GB that worked...could that be incorporated into the CM9 release for the m886?
