TRYING METHOD 1: Placing the UPDATE.APP in the ROOT directory of SD Card and powered off phone. While holding Volume UP + Volume DOWN + Power, Screen proceeds to turn pink. 30 Mins and counting to see if the update complete's.... Results will follow

7 minutes- So far my phone has not given me any indication that it is performing a upgrade, screen is still pink and no reboot's have occurred as described by others.

15 minutes- Screen has remained pink and no reboot's have occurred, Starting to become skeptical.

30 minutes- Phone has done nothing, I Batt. Pulled and trying new method...
** I AM PLACING THESE FILES ON THE EXTERNAL SD CARD*** Correct????

PS- At this time the phone currently has stock recovery & is NOT rooted.

TRYING METHOD 2: Placing the UPDATE.APP in the ROOT directory of SD Card and perfome software update via:

System Setting > Storage > Upgrade Via SD Card.... Proceeded through the User Interface(UI) and phone rebooted, The screen is now stuck on The "HUAWEI" logo screen, 30 mins and counting to see what happens.

** NOTHING HAPPENED, I WAS STUCK ON HUAWEI LOGO FOR 30MINS!**

TRYING METHOD 3: I have placed the "dload" folder into the root directory of "external" SD Card and within that folder is the UPDATE.APP. I navigated through the System Setting's > Storage > Upgrade Via SD Card, The phone has rebooted and I will not touch it for the next 30 mins, Will keep updated...... GOD I HOPE SOMETHING WORKS... CAUSE THESE FORUMS DON'T GIVE TO MUCH HELP@@!!

PS- At this time the phone currently has stock recovery & is NOT rooted.

So i saw on another thread that in order for it to work you must have flashed one of the custom roms or Oriaxs stock rom first

Yes, this is correct! I had to first Download Oriax's Stock ROM and flash that using CWM. After that I was able to put the entire "dload" file onto the ROOT of the external SD Card, I then navigated through System Settings > Storage > Upgrade Via SD Card. The phone rebooted and starting performing the upgrade... Thanks for all your support Gio. I hope this Information helps anyone who was stuck with the problem that I had.

BTW- ICS FOR THE MERC IS BEAST!!!! Awesome UI, Also I have not seen any problems with the 3G connection issues that most people seem to be having... I will definitely be using this until the official update comes out =)

GIO- When I'm using V6 Supercharger what profile do I need to be running "Alpha build 2" or "Alpha build 3 & Higher"??

I need to do some more research into the V6 supercharger because I am currently running it on "Alpha 2" and It seems to be doing wonder's for my phone as far as "Speed" is concerned. Gio, Have you found a way to remove the "Bloatware" from the ROM yet? I try with Titanium Backup and It say's that it can not locate the package.. He do we remove these items?

Download rom toolbox and you can use the app manager to remove all the bloatware

Let me know if that worked for you....

    About CWM....
Sorry but no, There is not current method to get a Custom recovery with this "Demo". There however is a method to reverting your ROM back to GB if needed at a later time.

    not ready

My merc runs cool on stock gb unrooted. Fast, no lag, no issues. I like it as is for now but I do want ics in the future (demo or official) just don't know what ics has to offer over gb besides newer version of android? I googled it but to a noob like myself it might as well been written in English splashed with Arabic every third word .

Ics has a lot of good extra features, but when I ran it on my merc, it wasn't stable as gb. So I am running gb stock rooted. I chose stability and performance over a different look and and extra features.

I personally have not seen very much of a difference in stability or performance honestly, I love the feel and look of the user interface. At this point in time GB is obsolete in my book =)
