    mrsnino@ubuntu:~$ cd Downloads
    mrsnino@ubuntu:~/Downloads$ tar xvfz merc-root.tar.gz
    merc-root/
    merc-root/busybox
    merc-root/su
    merc-root/Superuser.apk
    merc-root/merc-root.sh
    mrsnino@ubuntu:~/Downloads$ cd merc-root
    mrsnino@ubuntu:~/Downloads/merc-root$ ./merc-root.sh
    This script should work using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
    Some other versions and distributions are known to have problems mounting the partition as writeable.
    Phone must be connected to PC via USB and in download mode (i.e. Power up, while holding volume up & down.

    i took off the battery turn on but when i tried to install superuser and root manager nothing happen it i downloaded screenshot and it said Error fb0 your phone is not rooted then i download root checker to double check if it was rooted or not and it says it wasnt installed properly said that my phone wasnt rooted thanks for your time

    Is that the complete output of the script?

    Also, did you wait until the script was complete before taking out the battery?

    The script should do checks of each of the files after copying them over.

    i tried to do it again and this is what i got
    To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo <command>".
    See "man sudo_root" for details.

    ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ cd Downloads
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~/Downloads$ tar xvfz merc-root.tar.gz
    tar: merc-root.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory
    tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
    tar: Child returned status 2
    tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~/Downloads$ cd merc-root
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~/Downloads/merc-root$ ./merc-root.sh
    This script should work using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
    Some other versions and distributions are known to have problems mounting the partition as writeable.
    Phone must be connected to PC via USB and in download mode (i.e. Power up, while holding volume up & down.

    System partition not found!

    Has anyone done a factory reset after Rooting?

    Also, is it possible to backup the partition unrooted and then restore afterwards?

    I have done a factory reset after rooting. It stayed rooted after the factory reset. I do not know about the partitioning though. I did a factory reset because my Google account was renamed and wouldn't allow me access anymore. I was also trying to fix the bug of the missing widgets by installing my apps one by one and the restarting. I narrowed it down but it seems many apps cause this on our phone.

    Good to know the rooting sticks and phone is still ok afterwards. This is my second phone and I run pretty much the same stuff as the first. Widgets stick 9 out of 10 times on reboot where the first one would almost never hold widgets.

    You can click the title of the Youtube video to be directed to the actual video on Youtube. I've modified the code to make it viewable on screens above 1280 pixels wide. This ad code accounts for over 50% of the revenue for the site. Removing it would be too costly. Vbulletin hasn't made it to where the post content wraps around ad code properly. I've tried to modify some CSS without losing functionality. No success. If anyone knows how to correct this, please let me know.

    A quick google for "google adwords text wrap around ad" turned up the following:

    <div style="float:left">

    Adsense code here

    </div>

    I've done my share of Googling.

    This div is actually floated to the right. It still doesn't behave correctly. You're looking at general CSS information. Not CSS as it applies to the Vbulletin system and this problem specifically. The search words I was actually using were, "Vbulletin first thread ad wrap text".

    #ad_thread_first_post_content {
    float: right;

    }

    I'm going to make a section for forum add on requests, changes, etc. Let's not post in this thread about that (site feedback section will do).

    A quick down and dirty fix for this type of an issue.

    Since the first post is the only one affected, if alignment is an issue for that posts content ( it rarely will be)
    Simply repost the important info in a subsequent post....Eazy/Peazy
