I had second-thoughts after installing the update, too, and went back to GB. Then, I had second-SECOND-thoughts and returned to ICS. Now, I'm kinda likin' it! No problems to mention, except for the aforementioned need for mms.apk, because I mistakenly deleted it when trying out different msg apps. Sadly, I didn't back it up, and I much prefer the stock app over the ones I tried. Oh well, live and learn!

Hey, I'm not sure if anybody has any idea how to fix this little problem I have... After upgrading to ICS and rooting, I went into Titanium backup, and wanted to delete Google Play Books. I accidentally did "force uninstall" instead of just uninstall, and it didn't work properly, and now Google Play Books is still there, and it won't uninstall, because the system says it "cannot find .apk file"

    Any ideas, anyone?

    Thanks...

EDIT: Nevermind, got it working and I'm rooted.
What did you do to solve it? I'm stuck on that same screen.

Re: WORKING Ice Cream Sandwich Root

You need the dload update.app update for you to update to ics no root necessary. Once you have it. Place file at root of folder hold Vol.up and down + power. Pink screen to update through phone. Oh yeah disable fast boot before power down

Hey guys. I've been following everything you do with the Mercury, and installed and rooted ICS when you first had it. But my phone became clogged with crap that I put on, and I wanted to start over. Well, I still have ICS on it, which always ran smooth for me, but now it's not rooted and I've went over and over many times today trying to root it, and I can't. It's been awhile since I've rooted it, so are these the complete instructions on rooting ICS, or am I supposed to do a previous step? Please help, I love ICS and my Mercury, but having it rooted is a big plus, too.

I double click the adb, after winrared, then it does a super quick command prompt thing that is too fast to see. Then I click root me with phone plugged into PC on usb debugging and connected to PC. it stays at Daemon started successfully, but just sits there. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

It's a fresh install, so I only have Superuser(free) and busybox(free) and Terminal Emulator on it. They all say it's not rooted.
