Wtf...smh I'm gonna have to go see it in person because they've said two different things. Plus, they said a 2.0megapixel FFC. -_____-

I called two Radio Shacks, one didn't have the phone and another did. They both said it comes with 2.3 Gingerbread. So yeah, the website is misleading.... but it sounds like an update will be made available.

If people who upgraded to ICS already could let us know when they bought their phone along with issues, if any, that could greatly help the community to know if their Mercury will play nice with ICS. I think this could be important to see what phones are giving 3G issues. It won't be exact but could help. I bought mine in December and never did any updates.

    Ics

Had my phone replaced in March. Running ics. Nice and smooth. No issues at all. Got data, wifi, Gps, mms without having to go 3g, and all the programs work. Hats off to the people who made this possible.

"Without having to go 3G"? Data/MMS use 3G (or 1x). I'm guessing you meant you didn't have to try the 3G fix?

Correct. 3g is solid. Mms works while on wifi.

You can, in fact, only send SMS/MMS over the carrier network. However, it will still work with Wifi on.
Normally, as long as you have mobile data on, if you send an SMS/MMS with wifi on, your phone will temporarily utilize the mobile network to send the message, then switch back to Wifi.
I guess this just saves people the time in switching between wifi/data. GoSMS will send a pic over wifi, but the other person just gets a URL to view the image online.

My experience with the update didn't go so well, others have had no problems with the update. I had problems holding 3g connection. The official ics upgrade will be released by the end of the month, when that comes out I will try that one. Should be more stable than this version, since they probably new about the problems and hopefully they corrected them.

Thanks for the info, I guess since it was a beta or alpha version would have many bugs, I guess I'll wait for the official update.

I asked Huawei, on fb when it would be and they said very soon... and they called it an update not a demo like they previously called it... Soooo I'm guessing they decided to do the full update...

Dont do it to yourself. This is a demo.. and it needs alot of work.. I succeed.. It took me approx 15 mins to update to this.. and ive been using it since.. But as of tomorrow, im going back to GB.. Its starting to freeze.. Yesterday, it kept telling me it couldn't start my camera. My games are starting to close error more and more. Its was running smooth and fast right after install.. But like a windows operating system, after a lil bit of usage.. its slowing up.. Pfft!.. wait for the official.!

Installed this rom on my replacement Mercury and runs smooth as grease sh**, added V6 SC and runs lightning fast.
Love this rom, having no issues, no FC's and other crap.
Turning screen on with no delay present, turns on instantaneously before SC script, same with the script.

There might be a problem with the first and second generation released Mercs, this one has no issues at all.
It stays cool all day so far, using navigation with sensorly and heavy multitasking at the same time on the road with radio playing in background.

Demo or not, runs excellent. No issues to report.

Been using the leaked demo ICS for awhile now and its been running great for me with the exception of Gallery not syncing with my Picasa pictures. Anyone else having that issue and anyone know of a fix?
