If you're using the GMail app, you can change that setting in GMail's settings from a PC. It's on by default.

I've had the phone for almost two weeks now, and my only complaint is that the recorded audio from the video camera blows mightily.

    other than that, it's amazing!
I'm also a new smartphone user. I couldn't wait to get one and I landed on the Cricket and Huawei Mercury. Beautiful phone but I am disappointed in the battery life. I and a very light user and to get the battery to last all 1 day I have to turn everything off and dim the backlight. What would happen if I were one of those folks who always have a phone to their mouth/ear? It wouldn't last a day.

I've talked to several people and they've assured me that all the smartphones (iPhone included) are power eaters. I'm really surprised by this and I wonder if everyone is having the same experience....

The Mercury is the best smartphone cricKet has - by far. I've had the Zio, Ascend, and Optimus, and this one blows them out of the water battery wise.

I don't use Facebook or twitter notifications (text/email covers that for me), usually keep my brightness low and it lasts me through out the day. Any time I am in the car the phone is on the charger - especially for navigation - and I have very few complaints with this phone.

Battery wise the Mercury seems to outdo anything I've had in the past (all high end flashed phones).
Please check the forum and post there before PMing me. I have over 674 unread PMs due to the fact that they are issues which should have been addressed here.

I'd like the 1st screen on my Huawei Mercury to show the percentage of charge remaining along with the clock and date. Is there any way to accomplish that without rooting or flashing?

I like Battery Left Widget. It monitors your battery and gives you it's own determination of battery life left vs what the system reports.

Check out the Minimalistic Text widget; although the learning curve for it is a bit steep.
