Installed Oriax 2.3.6 untouched (unrooted). Disabled Fast Boot. Installed CarrierIQremoval ZIP.
    No Boot loops.

    Ran ROOT zip afterwards
    No Boot loops.

    Discovered some conflicts;
Lucky Patcher 1.34 - When installed and rebooted will cause boot loops. If installed, used, then uninstalled, phone will reboot OK

Using Titanium, these apps cause loops also:
    SAMBA

I'm stopping there as I use SAMBA daily, could be my phone specific

Thats funny, I was just poking around myself after my phone rebooted this morning and I was feeling paranoid... init.rc shows something of interest that should be commented out or removed:

    Lines 208 - 215:
    Code:
    #/* < DTS2011062804229 zengqiangsheng 20110630 begin */ exec /system/bin/iqcopy /system/etc/iq.img.vfat /data/iq.img.vfat
        chown system system /data/iq.img.vfat
        mkdir /data/app_iq_archive
        chown system system /data/app_iq_archive
        chmod 0640 /data/app_iq_archive
mount vfat loop@/data/iq.img.vfat /data/app_iq_archive rw nosuid nodev
        #/* DTS2011062804229 zengqiangsheng 20110630 end > */
    and lines 739 - 749:
    Code:
    # /* < DTS2011080805775 wangenhua 20110831 begin */service iqmsd /system/bin/iqmsd
        disabled

    on property:service.iq.active=1
        start iqmsd

    on property:service.iq.active=0
        stop iqmsd

    # /* DTS2011080805775 wangenhua 20110831 end > */

    I would also delete:
    /data/app_iq_archive
    /data/iq.img.vfat
    /system/bin/iqcopy
    /system/etc/iq.img.vfat

I'd REALLY like to know why I'm getting boot loops when I remove it with certain apps installed.

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure if you had overlooked those things. I downloaded and viewed your source and was comparing what I had found to your script.

I was looking to remove CIQ today and write a tutorial myself when I searched and saw your topic. It seems we both had the same thing in mind.

    Very nice work.

You could try installing a fresh Rom and then remove the files manually to see if there's a difference

No worries, I appreciate the work and the help. Like I posted before, Fresh Rom, Root from zip, then just install SAMBA or LUCKY PATCHER and my phone loops, remove the apps and no loops. strange.

SAMBA let's you browse the SD card like any other network drive (root) and Lucky Patcher removes google ads and other "patching" functions if you want them.

Lucky Patcher seems to bloat a lot of tools together. May I suggest "AdFree" (free on the market) by BigTinCan as an alternative?

Also, I use "Wifi File Transfer" to make my phone into a small web server with a local IP on my wifi network. I can download and upload files through the web browser. You don't have root access, only SDcard, however you can copy files to the card and then use ES File Explorer (or whatever your preference) to move the files to the phone from the card, or vice versa.
