Cricket called - Says they want to give me new replacement Mercury

It's legit but I just want to know if anyone else got this call.

They are mailing a new phone to the closet dealer where I can pick it up within 72 hours. They claimed the phone has random problems and I've been "selected" to receive a new phone.

I'm only suspicious if no one else gets the offer.

I got the call today about an hour ago they said i can pick it up at the store 10 blocks from me. Does anyone know what the reason for the recall is hardware/software wise? I really never had a problem with my android except the past few weeks my phone would switch ringtones/notifications sounds on me after a reboot. Would i have to put my phone back to stock like unroot it and take off my custom boot animation? Will i get a new one yer warranty on it? And does anyone know if the phone face is glass or plastic i had the phone since April and could never find this out.

Swap your phone if they offer. Don't bother unrooting because they won't even check. Yes, the touch panel is glass.

Thanks for the quick reply. I still may wipe my phone tho to get rid of all the personal data on it like contacts txt messages and to remove my email and email address from it even tho i doubt they will look at that and just destroy it. i just hope its not the white version of the mercury.

Just a reminder make sure you remove your micro sd card from your phone and if you can and nothing is awrong with your battery try and keep the battery that way you can use your old one and keep the new one for when the old battery konks out. When i go to turn mine in im going to give them the phone with out the battery.

    Newbie question here.

I have two Merc's that are to be swapped out next Tuesday. My concern is what will happen to all the paid Apps that I have installed on each phone. According to the CSR all the data will be transferred to the new phones, I'm worried that I will lose some of these Apps because they are installed to the SD card. Will the new phones be smart enough to know that the SD card is their home?

    Wondering,
    Mark

I think yr apps r backed up in the play store under my apps. I still see apps that I dloaded months ago and no longer have or use. It should recognized the card .
