What comparison of Cricket has to do with the topic of Cricket Huawei Mercury (Glory) Release Date and Pricing Information?
Rhetorical question, please don't answer or feel that you need to leave a remark. TY
I will now stop thread jacking as I have strayed from the thread topic.

Well sir on that note the whole thread should be closed, as we know its release date and price. LOL

You're right, the phone has been released, and the price is already known, but I don't mind if you continue discussion in this thread.

For more specific discussions on the phone, it would be best to create a new thread (which some have already done). You wouldn't want to talk about rooting in this thread, when there is already a thread on rooting, for example.

I'll keep this thread open just in case someone wants to continue discussion in here.

It's called a thread drift. Honestly it's better than no discussion at all. We are a new forum and rely on any chatter we can get.

Let's all keep in mind that everything is based on what people have personally experienced. Don't take offense to anything on a forum as hard as it might be. I've lashed out inappropriately and had to bite my tongue also. Be glad of one thing... That Cricket has found a way not to break the bank and provide a pretty darn good phone. I can't wait to get one so we can post videos on different ROMs, rooting, etc.

LOL Every training video and literture for nearly every hotel casino on the strip (and off) stresses this! (I know I have been involved with production on many of them). We do offer a plethora of entertainment choices, cultural activities and wonderful culinary choices, that said, but the "you can get away with doing anything you like" image of Las Vegas is a complete misnomer and would speak to your general inexperience with Las Vegas as a whole. Las Vegas is currently used a training ground for other international fledgling gambling and hospitality destinations hotel/casino staff and management (we currently are training management worldwide such as in places like Macau, Monaco, Singapore, and Dubai) So your experience was likely a very localized one, perhaps having to do with how "you" personally treat people as much as anything else. LOL
Nice. I'll not take your bait, except to say what you know of my experience in Vegas would't fill a Barbie thimble so drop the know it all attitude.

Personal response? So because I happen to be a moderator I can't have an opinion?

I lived in Vegas for three years, and visited hundreds of establishments. Most places the people weren't anything special. Not overly friendly, not outgoing. The strip casinos would have been better I would think but for the most part it's not. People dont go out of their way to help you in my experience, they just do the minimum. Now granted my experience on the strip was in restaurants, the casino floor and in some of the shops in the various shopping areas of the hotels. The food courts are the worst in my opinion. Of course this was just my personal experience and the fact that the person behind the counter at a coffee shop in the Planet Hollywood greets me as a walk up customer with "What do you want?" may actually be awesome customer service. Thats not how the people in my store are greeted but I probably just piss people of when I say "Hi there! How are you today" and call them by name if I know them.
Clearly racer you are in the hospitality business if youre training these folks and feel the need to put verbiage from your company brochure in your post to substantiate your claims to LV's exemplary customer service. Thats great good for you. The reality isnt whats in your brochure though, but thats not the funny part.

You did EXACTLY what anyone here who has defended Crickets CS did. You trotted out facts and talking points about why this is this and that is that in LV, just like I have with Cricket and the fact is it's not any different. It doesnt matter what I say about Crickets CS, it can suck and for lots of people it does. Same thing with Vegas. Your company may be the hospitality training wunderkind but once your done with them, it's up to them to continue what you taught them and the truth is alot of them don't. Plus you don't train the folks in regular stores off the strip and out of the hospitality industry and contrary to what alot of folks think about Vegas, there is a whole other world off the strip. The customer service in those places is really pretty bad for a lot of reasons, including but not limited to language barriers, cultural differences and a general lack of community. And I have never ever met anyone in Vegas or anywhere else that said the reason they go to Vegas was because of "the AWESOME customer service". Shows, partying, strippers, gambling, spas, golf, sure. Never customer service. You can be sure the next time one of my friends or customers mentions Vegas though I am gonna grill them about the customer service they got.

Don't worry I expect you to defend Vegas, you live and work there. But don't act like the subject of your defense is somehow better than mine or that you're smarter. It's annoying.

Here is an outside observation from someone who has followed this entire thread. Woof, you act really immature sometimes and escalate situations by laughing at people and calling them babies etc. and you have done this more than once to different people in this thread. You can correct or disagree with people without being so condescending. This is something you might want to work on given your position in life and on this forum.

Really no offense though Woof, you do a lot of great things too and nobodies perfect.

I don't know you, I don't know whether or not I am smarter than you and in reality, in my world, it really doesn't amount to a hill of beans either way. I don't have anything to prove to you or anyone else. I was here stating my opinion, yes like yourself I have them. I don't think there is a user here that would argue that you and I have strong opinions Woof.

You have also made some assumptions that are incorrect, while I work along side the hospitality industry in Las Vegas I do not work in it or for it. The word "we" in my prior post was meant as Las Vegas collectively. I agree that experiences are personal and subjective. I am proud of my city, that is factual. I will also agree with you that it is a far different experience for tourists than it is for residents (speaking in terms of off the strip local businesses), Las Vegas is a transient city with a lot people moving in and out all the time, I find that this makes residents less apt to develop relationships/friendships and compartmentalizes communities. I get the sneaking suspicion that this is the Las Vegas you experienced, it is Vegas for most locals unfortunetly. But one must remember that this is "Disneyland for Adults" so to speak, as is the experience. There are those that find this notion disturbing, false or some how fake. You are not the first person to leave this city with a bad taste in your mouth, luckily for Las Vegas and its financial survival a great many of those like yourself were former residents not tourists. Las Vegas has one of the highest return rate of vistors for any destination worldwide.

Additionally I challenge you to go to the Cricket facebook page and count how many disgruntled customers are asking for something for free VS how many of them are trying to get the products and service they purchased from Cricket in working order so they can actually use what they have paid for....Doesn't appear to me that there are a lot of people looking for handouts...rather there seems to be a lot of customers with valid unresolved complaints about their service or handsets....Hmmmmm...

Alright now we're drifting too far. Not just one individual. Back on topic or the thread will be locked. I'd hate to lock one of the most popular threads in the forum...

Great examples of topics to continue the discussion:

    Huawei Mercury
    Cricket's Network
Customer Service as it relates directly to Cricket Wireless
Cricket Wireless in general (see I had to be specific... no talk about the sport)

I think EVERYONE gets the idea.

On that note, I am really enjoying my Mercury. I have shown in it to two friends (with iPhones 3GSs) and they are seriously considering coming back to the light side of the force for this rocking handset! LOL

I haven't found anything I don't like about it so far.

I do have a question about it for you hardware experts. I know that with a large percentage of android smartphones, you can use most generic chargers as the handset is dictating the voltage and charge rate. That said most of the generic chargers output between 800 - 850ma @ 5-5.1 volts. Whereas the charger for the Mercury output potential is at a ratre of 1amp @ 5 volts. I tended in the past to leave several of the generic chargers at different locations, rather than drag and keep track of one charger everywhere I go. This worked fine for the Zio, however with the larger battery capacity and difference in spec on the chargers (and even battery type Li-ion vs Li-poly), my questions is; Will using these generic chargers in any way damage the Mercury or its battery? Thank you in advance.

I'm really thinking about making an introduction at my local dealer to purchase one.

The chargers with lower output shouldn't harm the device. They would just not charge it as fast if the current draw was suppose to be higher. Some battery based chargers would be in trouble otherwise (ZAGG Sparq and such). If you feel froggy, get a multimeter and test the current draw :-).

Low current doesn't hurt devices. However chargers are another story. If you connect a device that pulls too much current for your charger it will fry the charger.

That being said, USB charged devices seem to have protection built in so they don't pull more current than the charger provides.

I have an old external hdd that pulls a ton of current by design that just won't function if there is not enough current.

I made a statement earlier in this thread to the effect that if the Merc wasn't out by my payment date I may well cancel my account since I haven't replaced a stolen phone for months now (I really don't use a "phone" much anyway, I'm just a Tech Junkie!); when I got shot in the pants.

I'ld like to finish that thought, if no one minds? My idea was two fold, first was to cancel an account/phone number that really isn't that important to me so I could order online and set up another account (avoiding having to do the "Shopping Thing") when I AM able to get the Merc. Second I kinda wanted to move my payment date back a week or two because all my bills seem to come out of one paycheck....BUT... I bit the bullet and went ahead and payed for One More Month potentially for nothing! Friday is payday and I WILL own the first Mercury I can get in my hands after 5:00 Friday; hopefully from my favorite young lady that works my favorite Dealer (NON-Corp) Store.

As for CS; I've never had an issue, the young Lady I always try to do business with has always had answers to questions I didn't even know I need to ask!

Chris, OK to PM you concerning an avenue of getting new users bases; nothing commercial, just that I have, friends?!

Standing on the street corner of a bad neighborhood trying to promote the site is probably not a very good idea. It wasn't a good idea when I was peddling other services... J/J

Anyways send an e-mail to webmaster @ cricketusers dot com. Probably easier than getting all my autoresponders. You can also chat with me on the live chat whenever it's set to online.

I'm going down the road to see if a dealer has the Mercury. I have like 3 full Zagg Invisible Shields for it... lol...

I'd say assumptions were made on both sides, more than once. With that said, nice post. Well said. FWIW I don't dislike Vegas. It just doesn't have a lot of great qualities in my opinion. Nice place to visit for a few days, but I'd never live there again. Looking forward to my next visit though. Lots of friends there I miss. And the food, gawd do I miss the food.

I would concur with others here that a lower voltage charger would do no damage and just take longer to charge. Most of the modern handsets are engineered to have more than just a basic charging circuit from what I have read.
