nice to finally get that cricket boot off my phone >.<.

To save a little space, have you tried:
instead of having multiple copies of "Scribble_00062" to "Scribble_00100", putting them in a "p1" folder? If i rememebr correctly when i was making boot animations for the ascend 1.

p0 is the initial boot animation, then when it finishes, p1 is then looped until android is fully loaded.

Just a tip, would save a little space. though the entire zip is only like 2mb, so wouldnt save to much =P

i can try to install one of my old boot animations(just adjust the image sizes) and give it a shot and see how it goes.

thanks for the patch to bring back the bootanimation.zip file =)

This is my absolute favorite bootanimation.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/blpmgj2ux1...tanimation.zip

I adb pushed that onto every single device I owned.
I'm also a fan of the boot SOUND. Can someone tell me how to get that back?

I previously owned the T-Mobile G2X. When stock it had the PowerOn.ogg located here 'system/media/audio/poweron/PowerOn.ogg'
The PowerOff audio file was there also, but CyanogenMod did away with the PowerOn.ogg and PowerOff.ogg. Since everyone based their GB & ICS ROMs off of CM, no one ever bothered to put the boot sounds back.
I would probably love you forever, or almost forever, if someone could tell me how to get the boot sounds back
    ================================================== ==================================================
    EDIT:
I found the Hauwei bootSound.ogg and shutSound.ogg here:
    /cust/cricket/us/media/audio/animationsounds/
So now I gotta figure out how to get them to play when booting up, and shutting down

So I placed my bootanimation.zip at /system/media/ as always with RootExplorer.
I navigated to /cust/cricket/xxx ... and immediately notice that I can NOT put the directory into R/W. Pressing R/W does nothing.
So essentially, Root Explorer has failed me for the first time - ever!

ADB won't work, as it shows me device is OFFLINE. Some driver error I suspected. Can't resolve that. Did all the usual tricks.

    OH WELL.
    I'll try again tomorrow.
    G'night all!

Hey your onto something here. Yea my root explorer wont let it goto r/w either so its not your phone. I don't know much about hex editing and stuff like that but i can flash stuff but i do like to try and figure stuff out and now this is my mission as i want the same to. I found a boot animation that i made a sound for that is really cool imo only if i can get the sound to work and if i do this forum will be the first to learn about it.
Heres the vid if anyone wants to check out my boot animation the pics are not mine but the sound is.

I got this to work with no problems. And yeah agreed this is way better han the muve junk bootup. It would be cool to add my own boot sound like a part of my favorite song or something like that.
