    Dual Core Or Single Core?

    Hello Cricket Users,

Paul Wilson here and I wanted to know when the Huawei Mercury comes out is it going to be a dual core processor or a single core processor?

Thank you for answering my question and I'll be glad to hear from you.

    Wish you well,

    Paul Wilson

From the many articles I read, single core.

I agree. At first it was said it was going to be dual-core, but we later learned it's just single core.

We don't know of an exact date, but probably come time in November. I've heard November 4th and November 14th before.

Yeah, originally it was reported dual core, but that was quickly shot down as the CPU chipset was quickly hunted down on the manufacturer's website. I was originally hoping for the first week or two of November, but the comments in the article that state 'before the holidays' are a little nebulous to instill confidence in my desired time frame.

The first week or two in November is still "before the holidays", right?

It's a little noncommittal for me...but I like the way you think. Man I'm getting amped for this thing!

You definitely do seem excited! That's a good thing.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of the phone. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. I have one already: How long does it take for "Navigation" to load after you select it? How long does it take it to find your location? After you choose where you want to go, how long does it take until it tells you which way to go?

I had a bad experience today with my phone. I was driving and had to get navigation going quickly (let me say, there is no quick with my Huawei Ascend) and at first GPS wasn't enabled. So, I had to go enable that. After that, it couldn't find my location. With all of this going on, I was roaming on MetroPCS and only had 1x! Finally, I was able to figure out where I was going. If I get the Huawei Glory I sure hope I don't have any problems like that. From what I've seen so far the device seems pretty responsive so hopefully there won't be any problems.

I hope that my excitement is exceeded only by available fundage upon the the Mercury's release.
My Ascend is a little slow on the Nav front too, but not nearly that slow. I suspect that you were dealing with that 1x more than a problem with the Ascend per se...at least...that's my story and I'm stickin to it. If I get it in a timely manner I will certainly offer a report.

Do you have CyanogenMod 7 on your phone, or just stock?

I have CM7 on it. Methinks I need to reflash it, though. Been having a lot of force closes and random reboots. Bugging me really. Part of the reason I've been itching for this new phone...well..that and this phone sounds awesome hot. Especially when compared to the typical Cricket offerings. Sure it's not 3D, but I don't think that's something for me...not yet anyway.

I also have CM7 on my phone. It seems to be slowing down more with a September build instead of the May build, which was weird. I saved all of my text messages, applications, etc, so maybe that has something to do with it. If I actually started from scratch it would probably be running better.

I've heard from some that the HTC Evo 3D doesn't even look 3D. I've never seen it personally, so I just go by what I hear from others.
