    Flash Rom from Ubuntu/linux

My phone wont turn on or go into recovery mode. DL mode works. When put in download mode from windows one partition shows up. I have already replaced all the files, no success. Recovery mode still isn't available. I plugged the phone into ubuntu, on download mode, and was able to see multiple partitions so I figured, ahh I'll just pull out my new mercury, copy all these files onto the old phone using Nauticus for root access; however, that did not work. The phone will let me copy some but for the most part says I do not have permission to "read these files". I am now hoping smoeone can help me get access to these files, or perhaps educate me on a way to install a rom via ubuntu. Im also open to any suggestions. Heres a link to my previous post, where this all started, weeks ago.

Not sure why you would root the long way when i made a easy root :P (Signature)

Also Try this exactly as described,

1.Boot into Download Mode (Pink Screen)

2.Plug into PC and let Ubuntu pick it up.

    3.Delete the file "Recovery.img"

4.Copy the new "Recovery.img" to the folder that you deleted the original one from.

5.Unplug and boot into Recovery OR update via APP

    2 options.

a.Boot into Recovery and flash my rom (signature links)

b.Create a folder named dload on your sdcard. Copy the UPDATE.app into that folder.
Install by holding BOTH volume and Power buttons.

I've already replaced the Recovery.img file multiple times. as for creating a DLoad folder on the SD card and uploading update.....holding both volume buttons and power would only put me back in DL mode, not install anything. And as I said, phone won't boot into recovery mode.

You said you "replaced" the recovery, How did you replace it?

Reason i ask because there are 3 different ways and outcomes it can give you.
I know bcz ive done this many times when i made my roms.

1.Deleting recovery.img then copy new one
2.Renaming recovery.img to recovery.bak then copy new one
3.Overwrite the recovery.img by drag and drop.

Yes they all do the same thing but for some users different methods work and some dont.

Also make sure you have all 5 files where the recovery.img is located or it wont boot correctly.

there is a root method for this phone under linux.. you need to do that first.. then you can copy and replace all of the files in the image folder. This will give you root access (should) then you can replace the files.. If im understanding whats happening...
