    Gaming on the Mercury

The Merc has an Adreno 205 gpu that has been receiving incremental driver updates since the chipset was released. These updates have have increased the performance of the gpu a lot, judging by the discussions on the xdadevelopers forums. From what I've read, the last update that CricKet pushed out for the Mercury brought the gpu drivers to current, and benchmarks I've ran seem to back that theory up.

The current highest scoring Android phone on the Antutu benchmark comparison page is the Galaxy SIII of course, and while the overall benchmark score of that phone is much higher than what the Mercury can achieve, it's 3D score is only a little bit higher.

Here's the SIII results, pay attention to only the 3D score :

Samsung Galaxy SIII - Ranking - AnTuTu Benchmark -- Know Your Android Better

Here's the benchmark I just ran:

What I'm really curious about is, I know that some of you guys have refused to install the updates that CricKet offers, and some of you guys are even running custom roms. What is your 3D performance like?... I know that some people aren't into playing games, but If you're ever feeling bored, maybe you can run the benchmark and report back what your 3D score is?(not overall score).

The fact that this phone plays almost every Android game perfectly is such a huge plus. If the Merc had a crappy gpu I would already be looking for another phone.

Benchmarks are really not reliable. And depending on a lot, your phone will give out different scores. On stock on cm10 or so I get almost 10,000

Your 3d score supports my claim. As far as benchmarks not being reliable, they're used by people who review and rate phones for a living.

Salas, how are you posting full resolution shots in your posts without them having to be clicked on first?

Anytime I post a screenshot or image it appears as a thumbnail in my post and people have to click on it or hover the mouse over the image to enlarge it.

Ah ok sorry was referring to the full website on a PC. I guess tapatalk version doesnt have to use the same image uploader as the desktop site.
