    Re: got bricked...

Have you tried the PST Tool? Try flashing ICS again, or going back to GB.

So if there is a way to fix this then why isn't anyone trying to help us fix them? And how would you fix it through pst tool in the first place? All it will do is take app update, so unless you can make all files into apps i don't see the pst tool helping you?
Any ideas? Ideas that actually work? This is very freaking annoying been trying to fix for over 3 weeks now, haven't had use of my phone since then, some people can't afford to go out and buy a new one, they are stuck with what they have!

with the PST you could probably write the entire stock image to the phone, which most likely (unless you have a hardware issue) would resolve any issues you were having. Hopefully this clears up the need for PST with this phone for this instance because I know that there will be at least one more post about fixing a semi-bricked/bricked mercury

No, i guess at this point its worth a try, i don't think anything else damaging could be possible. I was told to put this update on it by another person, and now it will not turn on, and now don't know what to do. I guess i could put it on a card reader and put the file on there and back on my phone again, we'll see i guess, but can you tell me exactly where to put the file and should i unzip it on my computer first?

But how do i do that if it ain't even turning on since that last update? That is what is confusing me the most. I've been trying to get it to power on and it just won't. I even deleted that dload folder with the update in it, that did not fix the problem either. So i may have a completely bricked phone, come to find out that it wasn't really bricked in the first place, know that bricked means dead shiny paper weight, something that will not power or turn on at all. But before this stupid update i was told to put on the phone, that took care of the for sure bricked phone. At least before, it was powering on, and had the red light that flashed in the corner to tell if it was charging or if the USB port was connecting, now not a damn thing. So i need to get this fixed, and if people are aware that this update could brick their phones, as i'm sure i'm not the only one, by no means should he have told me to put that update on it! It was bad enough and hard enough to fix before this, led alone now!!!

your the only person I know who got bricked with the update you should have completely read the thread completely as you said you only had 2parts of the files instead of all 8 which then makes it your fault for bricking it not the guys right? if he told you to throw your phone would you do it? exactly that's why people need to fully understand what they are messing with when the decide to do things to there phones.

Admittedly and not taking sides I have noticed him trying to help and he has provided links. However I will say there's not much clarity scattered across all the threads and there are entirely too many threads dealing with the same issue.

If someone would take the time to read them all and actually write up a well documented version however....

Someone who would intentionally break their own phone to verify...

Just an idea for one of you Merc owners though.
