I used this thread (http://www.cricketusers.com/cricket-...ot-screen.html) and got it working, just replaced the bootanimation with my own, now just need to figure out the audio portion of the boot now, dont know where it moved to. Thanks for your help, and for the awesome zip that made it work!!

Also if anyone wants a simple way to make a boot animation go here (
[TOOL]Boot Animation Factory - Create, Preview, and Manage Android Boot Animations - xda-developers

) works well except that I am too much of a Nub to figure out how to let the program connect with my phone, I have to be doing something wrong, I cant get it to connect with ADB, that is I dont kno how, looks like it should be automatic

i dont think i wrote the audio to the right patch O_O ill have to look at it >_< but try putting the audio in /system/media/audio or something like that... i kinda stop working on this cause no many asked for audio... but if u have a hex editor, u can see the patch it is linked to

created a folder in the system/media/audio folder for "animationsounds" and added my bootSound.ogg, I also made a copy of the ogg in system/media and system/media/audio folders... no dice, I think the hex editor idea might be over my abilities so far

did you just rename the file .ogg? That won't work. You have to convert it
