If you are on the new Boot-loader. gingerbread or ics.. if you force remove a app that the boot-loader is using for verification . You will most likely brick your phone..
OPEN TI BACKUP go in as if you were going to backup apps. but scroll down to bottom and select freeze apps.. when the list comes up unselect all and go thru the list and freeze the apps you do NOT WANT TO Run..
this is the safest way.. Right now there is very little known about this new BOOT- LOADER And how extent its app verification checks are... the information everyone is giving you above is exactly correct and true If you are NOT on the new boot-loader. This is the phone where there is no files available thru pink screen.. if YOU GET Download mode and see mounted files during pink screen. this as far as i can tell is a indication your on old boot-loader. sorry if this is confusing but im not on my computer typing this.

Please do be careful... Its very easy to brick this phone VERY Hard to unbrick it..

PS OFF TOPIC.. But im working with a friend for a possible boot-loader unlock solution i
Hope you enjoy your mercury Mine is like a new phone running ICS...

Freezing an app is USELESS unless its always running (which it shouldn't if you don't use it) .. removing an app is to clear that used precious memory.

I think the socialext is the "streams " app and as long as you used the Salas/Oriax method to install cwm and root you should have the old bootloader

If I remember correctly the Facebook /twitter won't show up in TB but I always freeze manually by renaming to .bak in system app which is basically what most "freeze" apps do anyway. As long as you rename the multisns to .bak with your system folder mounted with write permissions with your root file explorer Facebook /Twitter should go away

When I say rename to .bak I mean originalfilename.apk.bak

Right...plus they take up space in the app drawer with their screen consuming icons...plus why would I want an app in there that I never click on?

Just upgrade to ICS and you can remove all the bloatware with oriax's patches

You'll have fun and will love that OS...
Do you like the new Windows 7 aka Win XP. I love windows 8 on my ep121

    all's well...but what a pita.

do you think Cricket will ever get widespread 4g coverage...and why is mobile data such a rip off? Is it because of the right wing capitalists and their money loving greed? Before you know it, It'll only be ATT and verizon..and they will be in heavy collusion with each other over pricing and charge whatever they want...without socialistic control via regulation and the FCC, companies like Cricket, don't stand a chance being able to compete...sorry for being OT but true dat...

So you don't have any glitches with the ICS rom? Everything is running perfect...wifi, 3g, mms, ect...and it's not laggy...etc?
I really want to do it, but with my phone being so new, I'm a little fearful, plus if the offical ICS release comes out in a week or two, and you may have to revert back to stock GB to update it...so I'm a little torn...if ICS release wasn't in the future, I'd for sure be all over it...

This is a forum for cricket phones and service- political discussions are way off topic and will never end well.
